Salient Characteristics
423 CES Semi-Automatic Horizontal Baling Press with Bin-Lifter
The 423 CES, RAF Alconbury UK has a requirement to purchase a brand-new semi-automatic
horizontal baling press with bin-lifter.
The contractor will be required to provide all the necessary transportation, loading/unloading,
equipment, power tools, materials and labor required to provision one unit matching the
specification listed below:
1. One Semi-automatic SHEAR TYPE baling press shall include: a hopper open on one
side, with an interlocked access door on the opposite side, hours run display counter and
‘bale full’ light. The press-plate base and bale floor shall be Hardox® plated, and the
chamber shall have ‘V’ shaped serrated shear blades. There shall be a trunnion type bin-
lifter suitable for 1100 liter domed-lidded wheelie bins on one side, surrounded by a
safety cage with an interlocked gate
2. Loading Aperture = 1750 x 1050mm
3. Compaction Force = 70 tonnes
4. Electrics = 11KW/63A/415v (3 phase)
5. Bale Size = ~1200 x 1100 x 1100mm
6. Bale Weight = 500-700kg
7. Throughput = Up to 2Te per hour
8. Cycle Time = 47 secs
9. Machine weight = 10.5 tonnes
10. Overall dimensions = 1.6m wide x 7.7m long (Excluding bin-lift)
11. Tying system = Manual - 4 wire
Additional requirements:
1. Proposer must be able to carry out turnkey installation of new machine.
2. Proposer must be able to decommission/remove/dispose of existing baling machine and
bin lifter.
3. Proposer must be able to offer operational training on site following installation of the
equipment.
