Use this document to detail specifications/requirements for an item and/or ancillary services.  TITLE: 689 nm Laser System  Requesting Lab/Division/Group: Physical Measurements Laboratory/Time and Frequency Division, Atomic Devices and Instrumentation Group NB688000-26-01607 General Statement of Need  For experiments on chip-scale atomic wavelength references, we require a laser able to be tuned to a specific atomic transition in strontium at 689.44 nm. The laser will enable us to carry out precision spectroscopy of the transition and characterize it both as a wavelength references and as a thermometer. Tunability is required to scan over the atomic transition. Due to the weak nature of the transition, an optical power level above 50 mW is needed. In order to prevent problems due to optical feedback, an optical isolator with 60 dB of isolation is required at the operating wavelength of the laser.
