Description

NASA AMES 150MW POWER SUPPLY LABVIEW – NATIONAL INSTRUMENTS UPGRADE STATEMENT OF WORK Final Configuration & Factory Acceptance Testing and Field Commissioning 1. Background This Statement of Work combines the activities previously identified as Phase 2B (Final Configuration and Factory Acceptance Testing) and Phase 3 (Field Commissioning) into a single continuous scope for completion of the NASA Ames 150MW Power Supply LabVIEW/National Instruments Upgrade. 2. Objectives  Complete the final LabVIEW software configuration.  Validate functional equivalency between the legacy and replacement systems.  Develop and utilize a benchtop simulator for benchmarking and verification.  Complete Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).  Install and commission the upgraded primary and backup systems in Building N238.  Demonstrate successful operation through Dummy Load and Arc Heater testing.  Turn over a fully operational system with documentation. 3. Assumptions  Existing protective systems remain outside the LabVIEW control system.  No functional changes beyond those required to maintain equivalency.  Facility access, operators, and maintenance personnel will be available as required.  Existing I/O will be reconnected to the replacement hardware. 4. Phase 2B – Final Configuration and Factory Acceptance Testing 4.1 Work Planning Develop detailed work plans, schedules, conduct project meetings, and coordinate all activities. 4.2 Simulator Development Develop a benchtop simulator capable of reproducing the required power supply inputs, outputs, feedback, permissives, interlocks, and firing-angle commands for benchmarking. 4.3 Final Software Configuration Correct migration issues, improve diagnostics, reduce host latency, relocate applicable logic to the RT controller, perform subsystem testing, and validate functional equivalency. -- 1 of 3 -- 4.4 Hardware Validation Load and verify the upgraded application on the replacement hardware and backup workstation. 4.5 Factory Acceptance Testing Prepare FAT procedures, perform unwitnessed FAT, conduct witnessed FAT with NASA participation, document deficiencies, implement corrections, and issue the final FAT report. 4.6 Documentation Prepare O&M documentation, program files, licensing information, startup/shutdown procedures, troubleshooting guidance, and as-tested configuration records. 5. Phase 3 – Field Commissioning 5.1 Preparation Prepare equipment, installation checklists, wiring diagrams, energization procedures, and coordinate installation. 5.2 Field Installation Install the Host workstation, PXI/RT hardware, reconnect field I/O, verify communications, and perform system checkout. 5.3 Primary System Testing Perform Dummy Load and Arc Heater runs using the primary workstation and controller. Record and submit test data. 5.4 Backup System Commissioning Upgrade the backup workstation, verify functionality, perform Dummy Load and Arc Heater testing, and synchronize software baselines. 5.5 Closeout Submit commissioning reports, Dummy Load data, Arc Heater data, and final project documentation. 6. Deliverables  Benchmarking Report  Factory Acceptance Test Procedures and Reports  Installed Primary and Backup PXI/RT Systems  Installed Primary and Backup Host Workstations  Dummy Load Test Results  Arc Heater Test Results  O&M Manuals  Final Program Files -- 2 of 3 --  Commissioning Report  Final Closeout Documentation 7. Acceptance Criteria The work shall be considered complete following successful completion of FAT, installation, commissioning, Dummy Load testing, Arc Heater testing, submission of all required documentation, correction of deficiencies, and Government acceptance. 8. Pricing Pricing shall identify Phase 2B engineering, software development, FAT, documentation, and simulator development separately from Phase 3 field installation, commissioning, testing, travel, labor, and materials. -- 3 of 3 --
