Statement of Work (SOW)
1. Scope
NASA Stennis Space Center requires American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
certified pressure vessels suitable for hydrogen, methane, and nitrogen storage. Vessels
must comply with ASME Boiler Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII, Division 1,2 or 3, and
meet all specifications described in this document. Total vessel volume per skid or bottle
should be roughly 625 cubic feet, a quantity of two is required for a total of roughly 1250
cubic feet. Vessels shall be coated/painted and of high-quality workmanship.
2. Applicable Standards
• Vessels shall be certified to ASME Section VIII, Division 1, 2 or 3
3. Technical Requirements
3.1 Vessel Specifications
• Total volume roughly 625 cubic feet each
• Quantity – 2
• Material: SA372 Grade J or equivalent
• Design pressure: 15,000 PSIG
3.2 Assembly Pack Configuration Option
• Four (4) tubes arranged vertically in an I-beam or equivalent support structure
• 1-inch medium pressure end connections
• Integrated lifting and handling points designed for full assembly weight
• Suitable for safe transport, installation, and operation
3.3 Single Bottle Option
Vendors also have the option to provide pricing, lead time, and full specifications for the
procurement of a single 15,000 PSIG ASME certified pressure vessel tube with the
characteristics listed in Section 3.1. Connection shall be 6-inch R-Con.

4. Cleaning and Coating Requirements
• Cleaned to minimum Level 400A per RPTSTD-8070-0001
• Corrosion resistant coating/painting required
• Surface preparation ensuring long-term outdoor corrosion protection in Gulf Coast
environment
5. Delivery Requirements
Delivery shall be made to Bldg. 4010, NASA Stennis Space Center (SSC), MS 39529.
Vendors shall specify their expected delivery schedule and transportation method.
6. Quality Assurance and Inspection
• ASME code stamp and certification for each vessel
• Full material and manufacturing traceability
• Hydrostatic and non-destructive examination (NDE) test reports
• Option for NASA or delegated source inspection access during fabrication
7. Required Vendor Documentation
• Submittal drawings to be provided to and approved by NASA Engineering personnel
prior to construction
• Technical datasheets demonstrating compliance
• ASME certification documentation
• Schedule – Delivery shall be No Later Than (NLT) 42 weeks after contract award.
• Warranty terms – 12 Months after date of delivery
