Description
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), F/A-18 and EA-18G Program Office (PMA 265) has awarded a $1,492,611.30 Firm-Fixed-Price contract (N0001926C0124) on 19 August 2026 to KIDDE Technologies Inc., 4200 Airport Dr NW, Wilson NC 27896, using the authority of FAR Subpart 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. NAVAIR procured upgrades of retrofit kits and associated repairs of 108 existing fire protection and safety systems for part number (P/N) 473660-03 for the F/A-18 E/F, EA-18G, and F/A-18 C/D aircraft. The period of performance is three years (one base and two options). The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) code for the action described herein is 336413.
KIDDE is the original equipment manufacturer of the F/A-18 and EA-18G Fire Suppression Control Alarm (FSCA) units. KIDDE is the sole vendor qualified to upgrade FSCAs and is the only vendor with the manufacturing knowledge, experience, and software data required to fulfill this requirement within the time required.
The awarded contract is for the supplies or services for which the Government solicited and negotiated with only one source under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, ‘Only One Responsible Source’, and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
