REQUIREMENTS: 3.1 Accomplish a visual inspection within the first 24 hours after drydocking of Barge, upon completion of the hydro pressure water wash cleaning of the underwater hull and prior to painting, from the bottom of the keel to the upper boottop limit, including shell plating, sea chests, skegs and structural members for structural integrity, deterioration, pitting, cracks and areas of damage or distortion, using 2.2 through 2.5 for guidance. Report: INSPECTION RESULTS (WC) - WORK COMPLETE + 3 days 3.1.1 Submit one legible copy, in hard copy or approved transferrable media, of a report listing conditions found to the Barge Master/COR. (CDRL A001) 3.2 Accomplish ultrasonic tests on the underwater hull plating, within 72 hours of drydocking, in 200 locations, as designated by the Barge Master/COR, in accordance with Chapter 6 of 2.6, using 2.2 through 2.5 -- 1 of 36 -- SHIP: NAVSUPPACT PORTSMOUTH NSY (CNIC 32446) SSP: BOST-503-26 2 of 3 ITEM NO: 110-11-001 for guidance. 3.2.1 The accept or reject criteria must be in accordance with Paragraph 8 of 2.7. Report: SKETCH AND UT READINGS (WC) - WORK COMPLETE + 3 days 3.2.2 Submit one legible copy, in hard copy or approved transferrable media, of a sketch which includes specific locations with respect to frames, strakes, port or starboard, and existing welded butts and seams to the Barge Master/COR. (CDRL A002) 3.2.2.1 Sketch must show location of each reading, original material thickness, existing material thickness, and percentage of material thickness reduction to the Barge Master/COR. 3.2.2.2 Notate if reading is taken over existing doubler plate. 3.3 Accomplish repairs resulting from the visual inspection in 3.1 and ultrasonic testing results of 3.2 in locations as designated by the Barge Master/COR, using 2.2 through 2.5 as follows: 3.3.1 Vee-out and weld repair a total of 500 linear feet of splits, cracks, deteriorated and damaged welds. 3.3.2 Clad weld a total of 1000 square inches of plating defects. 3.3.2.1 Surfaces must be ground to smooth metal prior to welding. 3.3.2.2 Fill local pits and grooves with weld metal prior to the application of principal build-up layers. 3.3.3 Install new a total of 500 square feet of 15.3# mild steel doubler plating in areas of deteriorated hull plating as designated by the Barge Master/COR. 3.3.4 Accomplish the requirements of 009-012 of 2.1, including Table 3, Column A, Lines One through 7. 3.3.4.1 Accomplish nondestructive testing in accordance with Line 11. (V)(G) "AIR HOSE TEST OR WATER HOSE TEST " 3.3.5 Accomplish the requirements of 009-025 of 2.1 for the local air hose or water hose test of each repaired area. Allowable leakage: None. 3.4 Accomplish the requirements of 009-032 of 2.1 for each new and disturbed surface. 4. NOTES: 4.1 Work in conjunction with Work Item 123-21-001; Void; clean, inspect and preserve and 631-31-001, Underwater Hull and Freeboard Preservation; accomplish. 5.
