ORDERING DATA:
1. SPECIFICATIONS:
1.1. SCOPE: This specification covers the requirements for one (1) each deburring and polishing
machine with ancillary support for initial installation, start-up and training.
2. EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION: The equipment shall consist of one each deburring and polishing
machine that meets the salient characteristics below.
2.1. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS: Machine shall have the following salient characteristics
Construction: Machine construction shall meet a minimum of the following.
2.1.1.1. Frame: Machine frame shall be constructed from rectangular profiled steel
elements designed to provide high rigidity to the frame.
2.1.1.1.1. Main Motors Position: Main motors shall be positioned in a protected
position within the frame.
2.1.1.2. Sanding Belt Oscillation System: Machine shall be equipped with a sanding
belt oscillation system and electronic photocell. System shall include safety micro-
switches designed to stop machine operation in case of abrasive belt breakage or
mistracking.

2.1.1.2.1. Photocell Cleaning: Machine shall be equipped with a time-activated air
jet blower for automatic photocell cleaning.
2.1.1.3. Pressure Units: Machine shall be equipped with pressure units located at the
front and rear of each working unit designed to hold work pieces on the feed belt.
2.1.1.4. Feed Table: The feed tabletop plate shall be made from anti-wear steel with a
fine ground surface.
2.1.1.5. Feed Belt: Feed belt shall be a closed loop design without joints and multiple
layers of cloth. Belt shall be manufactured from oil / heat resistant rubber with a
flat top designed to accommodate thin workpieces.
2.1.1.6. Drive Unit: Drive unit shall be motor variator controlled by an inverter for feed
speed variation. Direction of feed belt shall be manually reversible with integrated
automatic lifting of working units.
2.1.1.7. Vacuum Plant: Feed table and rubber belt shall be equipped with vacuum
intakes including a high-speed ventilator and a muffler on the exhaust.
2.1.1.8. Feed Table Extension (Front Side): Machine shall be equipped with a feed
table extension in machine front side with rubber covered idle rollers, length shall
be no less than 15.5”.
2.1.1.9. Feed Table Extension (Rear Side): Machine shall be equipped with a feed table
extension in machine rear side with electric safety system and with rubber
covered idle rollers, length shall be no less than 15.5”.
2.1.1.10. Working Units: Machine shall provide three working functions that meet the
following requirements.
2.1.1.10.1. Working Unit #1: Working unit #1 shall consist of a 8” (nominal)
diameter cylinder complete with a sanding belt tension unit, electronic
oscillation, dust hoods and all required safety systems. Working Unit #1
shall also be equipped with the following features and functions.
a. Ability to compensate for variations of abrasive belt thickness
b. Contact Cylinder covered with oil- and heat-resistant rubber.
c. Electronic control of the position cylinder
d. Digital read-out display used for setting the contact cylinder
capable of providing measurements within a resolution of a
hundredth of a unit.
e. Position stand-by with pneumatic exclusion of cylinder in case of
an emergency stop.
f. Oversized excursion of the cylinder unit to allow for the utilization
of the Scotch-Brite belt.
g. Motor (IE3 rated) controlled by inverter for step less cutting speed
variation.
h. Pressure roller on the helicoidal grooves at cylinders outfeed.
2.1.1.10.2. Working Unit #2: Working unit #2 shall consist of a vertical cross
brushing unit and be equipped with the following features and functions.
a. Main motor controlled by inverter.
b. Breaking system for emergency stop
c. Motorized height adjustment.

d. Designed for quick replacement of brushes.
e. Set of brushes with abrasive inserts.
f. Spare set of brushes with abrasive inserts.
2.1.1.10.3. Working Unit #3: Working unit #3 shall meet the same requirements as
working unit #1.
2.1.1.11. Electrical System: Electrical components including motors, starters, relays,
switches, and wiring shall conform to and be located in accordance with NFPA 79
or equivalent and designed to accept 460 VAC, 3 Phase, 60 HZ.
2.1.1.12. Pneumatic System: Pneumatic system shall be provided with all required
filters, oil/air nebulizer, etc. and be designed to operate at a pressure no greater
than 90 PSI. system shall be equipped with safety devices designed to stop
machine when pressure drops below the minimum operating pressure
requirement.
