Description

PURPOSE This special notice is to inform vendors of an upcoming Request for Solutions (RFS). The purpose of this RFS is to solicit proposals for the replacement of the MK20 MOD 1 Electro-Optic/Infrared (EO/IR) Sight System (EOSS). The Government will evaluate the solutions with the intent of awarding a Project Order under the Expeditionary Missions Consortium (EMC2) Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) in accordance with 10 U.S.C. § 4022. BACKGROUND AND SUMMARY EMC2 Vendors interested in responding to this RFS must be members of the (EMC2). Interested parties should visit emccrane.org for membership information. This project will be managed by a Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division Project Manager. The RFS is anticipated to be released via the weblink listed above for EMC2 on or around 30 June 2026. PROJECT OVERVIEW The US Navy and US Coast Guard currently have several classes of ships with Gun Weapon Systems (GWS) using MK20 MOD 1 Electro-Optical Sight Systems (EOSS). The current EOSS imposes obsolescence risks and issues which are exacerbated by the limitation of sources and current architecture. Updated performance criteria are needed for incorporation including Modular Open System Architecture (MOSA), Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), and Motion Industry Standards Board (MISB) standards. RFI 26-01 contains more information can be found on the EMC2 website. All interested parties should visit the EMC2 website at https://emccrane.org/ t o become a member of the consortium to view the upcoming RFS on or around 30 June 2026. The RFS will not be available for viewing until or around June 2026. In addition to this Special Notice on SAM.gov, the EMC2 consortium manager will notify all consortium members of the upcoming RFS on or around the same time this notice is published to SAM.gov.
