This microscope is heavily used by CBER and CDER researchers across the FDA’s White Oak campus in Silver Spring, MD, and is used for live and fixed fluorescence and non-linear microscopy. The instrument is currently not covered under an existing agreement. Minimum Technical Requirements are as follows for preventive maintenance and repair service for a Leica CARS SP8 confocal microscope S/N: 8100000945; to include CARS Laser S/N: S06655, UC7_FC7 Basic Instrument S/N: 602425, and DMi8 Microscope Uni f/Mot, S/N: 416020: *One (1) planned annual preventive maintenance (PM) visit for the SP8 AOBS IR system, (Premium Care Service Plan coverage), to include labor, travel and parts to ensure the system is performing optimally and to factory specifications; *One (1) planned annual PM visit for the EM UC7 ultramicrotome (Advanced Care Service Plan coverage; *PM’s shall cover the entire microscope system - microscope stand, objective lens, any accessories as well as attached laser systems including UV and Visible and APE picoEmerald CARS IR Lasers and associated chiller, scan head, detectors, DMi8, UC-7, Tokai Hit stage top incubator for live-cell imaging and LIS large environmental chamber and attachment, automated stage controller and any microscope related parts, and any accessories and instrument control workstation and software; *Shall include unlimited service visits by Leica-Microsystems trained and qualified field service engineers; *Shall include unlimited replacement service parts, components, or modules necessary for repairs, excluding consumables, 3rd Party parts, and IR/MP lasers *All maintenance and repair activities shall be performed only by factory-trained and certified Leica field service representatives, following OEM specifications, manuals, and service bulletins, using OEM replacement parts, components, subassemblies, etc.; *In the event that a laser or other system component fails and cannot be repaired on-site, within 5 days the contractor shall provide loaner parts and shipping materials/packaging until the FDA parts have been repaired and replaced. without limitation of loaner time, within five business days; *24-hour e-mail or telephone response to a reported instrument issue; 72-hour response time for a Leica field engineer to be on-site for repairs; -- 2 of 14 -- *Prioritized on-site response time for remedial services (critical services); *Unlimited access to remote support Monday through Friday during normal business hours (8:00 am – 5:00 pm local time, excluding Federal holidays); *Shall include software and firmware updates as required by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) either remotely or in conjunction with a scheduled preventive maintenance or corrective maintenance visit (updates are defined as changes of t
