CADP DAF Mission Driven Leadership Publishing Performance Work Statement (PWS) POC Name: Andrew Bowens (Author) Organization: AFGC/Civilian Leadership Development School Physical Address: 605 Maple Lane, Bldg 1429, MAFB, AL 36112 1.0 OBJECTIVE Introduction: The Civilian Associate Degree Program (CADP) at the Air Force Global College provides accredited degrees for DAF Civilians. The goal of CADP is to provide curriculum and instruction required by law (5 CFR 412.202, 5 CFR 412.201 & 5 U.S. Code 9902). Courses have been designed to teach skills and competencies deemed critical to the Department of the Air Force and are based upon the DAF's Foundational Competencies. The CADP provides learning resulting in an Associate of Science in DAF Leadership and Management Studies. Graduates demonstrate three distinct outcomes that support the DAF’s potential to achieve and sustain its mission. Graduates are able to: • Demonstrate comprehension of theories and competencies that support the development of DAF civilian leaders; • Demonstrate comprehension of management principles, processes and practices within the DAF organizational environment; • Demonstrate an understanding of concepts, values and actions that define a professional civilians. Background: CADP has prepared courses focused on DAF Supervision and Management and Conflict Resolution and Organizational Performance within the DAF. The courses require two new textbooks that cover the learning content. The new textbooks are ready for publication and require professional editing, typesetting, and preparation for distribution in printed and electronic formats. 2.0 SCOPE General: CADP requires a publisher to complete the editing, typesetting, and formatting required to prepare the two books for publication and distribution to students and faculty who will participate in the course. CADP will provide the original manuscript for the book Department of the Air Force Civilian Managerial and Supervisory Framework for a Mission-Driven Organization" consisting of approximately 65,000 words with graphics and charts and the 2nd original manuscript for the book “United by Mission: A DAF Civilian’s Practical Guide Conflict Resolution and Organizational Performance” consisting of approximately 60,000 words with graphics and charts.” Vendors are restricted from releasing any draft or final materials to the public without prior authorization from the Contracting Officer (CO). 3.0. PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS 3.1 The requirement is for two published paperbacks and electronic format books (Adobe pdf, epub, Kindle, and any other industry standard format suitable for distribution through electronic means). DELIVERABLES The contractor shall provide a digital draft review for both textbooks by 25 January prior to providing the final deliverables on 15 March 2027: CDRL Title Description A001 Proofreading and editing of two manuscripts Provide edited copies that conforms to American Phycological Association Publication Manual, 7th Edition publication and style standards. A002 Production preparation services including: Graphic design and conversion Cover Design Developmental and technical editing Paperback formatting and layout Ebook conversion and layout ISBN/ISSN barcode registration Library of Congress Registration Metadata optimization Conform to industry standards for paperback and electronic publication. A003 “One-off” proof copy of Student Textbook Physical copy and Digital Copy (CD/DVD). A004 Printing and shipping (100 copies each) of two books Paperback format shipped to Civilian Leadership Development School, 605 Maple Lane, Bldg 1429, Maxwell AFB, AL. 36112 NLT 15 March 2027 A005 Digital files for printed and electronic book formats with chapter and subheadings linked in Table of Contents and conforming to current industry publication and ease-of-use standards. CD/DVD containing pdf, epub/e2book, and Kindle formats of final published book. The successful bid will include the following services: Editing to ensure the manuscript conforms to American Phycological Association Publication Manual, 7th Edition. Converting graphics and charts to formats compatible with style and format of final published products. Typesetting and technical editing of both manuscripts to conform to final published form using industry standard typesetting and publishing software. Final form of the paperback books will be approximately 6” x 9 1/4” or a similar industry standard. Front cover, back cover, and any internal graphics will use four-color or similar industry standard process. Formatting of Bibliography or References in accordance with industry standards. Formatting of Index in accordance with industry standards. Vendor will coordinate with government representative regarding selection of font or typeface and standard page layout (i.e., line spacing, margins, graphic placement, etc.). Retain footnotes that exist in original manuscript and place where appropriate on the final page layout. Government representative will provide page numbers for Index after the manuscript has been typeset. Vendor will provide graphics for cover design and will coordinate design for front and back covers, spine, and inside Title Page with Government. Government representative will review pre-production proofs and provide any corrections to vendor before submitting projects for printing. Vendor will register the books with the Library of Congress and indicate the Library of Congress Control Number in the metadata provided in the frontmatter of the final published works. Metadata will be published in the front matter according to industry standards including such information as copyright date, author identifying information, Title and Short title, ISBN, key terms, Dewey Decimal and/or other such library reference information.
