SPECIFICATIONS SECTION 01 33 00 – SUBMITTAL PROCEDURES PART 1 – GENERAL 1.01 PROCEDURES FOR SUBMITTALS A. Reviewing, Certifying, Approving Authority: Contractor shall be responsible for reviewing and certifying that submittals are in compliance with contract requirements. B. Scheduling: Allow review period, beginning with receipt by approving authority that includes at least 5 working days for submittals for contracting officer approval. Period of review for submittals with contracting officer approval begins when Government receives submittal from contractor. Period of review for each resubmittal is the same as for initial submittal. C. Variations: Variations from contract requirements require Government approval pursuant to contract Clause entitled “FAR 52.236-21, Specifications and Drawings for Construction” and will be considered where advantages to government. Submittal Schedule: SECTION DESCRIPTION SUBMITTED APPROVED 33 36 00-1.02A Vault Toilets (5) END OF SECTION 01 33 00 SECTION 01 74 00 – TOILET DISPOSAL AND SITE CLEAN UP PART 1 – GENERAL 1.01DISPOSAL A. Pumping and Disposal of existing toilets: a. Contractor shall pump toilets immediately prior to disposal. b. Contractor shall remove and dispose of the existing toilet systems. c. Waste materials generated from the disposal shall be disposed of at the contractor’s expense in accordance with all local, state and federal regulations at an approved offsite location. d. While excavations are open during construction, contactor shall provide guards and/or other protection necessary to protect public from the tripping/falling hazard. 1.02CLEAN UP A. The contractor shall keep the work site free from accumulation of waste materials and rubbish resulting from the work. The contractor shall minimize disturbance to the area and perform site work necessary to restore natural surface contours impacted from work. C. Before final acceptance of the project by the Government, the contractor shall remove from the site all excess material, waste, and rubbish resulting from this work. END OF SECTION 01 74 00 SECTION 33 36 00 – CONCRETE VAULT TOILET PART 1 – GENERAL 1.01SUMMARY A. Work includes the installation of five (5) unisex concrete vault toilets. a. Each toilet will be installed at different sites across three different Ranger Districts. 1.02SUBMITTALS A. Product Data: For the vault toilets indicated, include construction details, material descriptions, dimensions of individual components and profiles, and finishes. General: Comply with vault toilet manufacturer’s written installation instructions applicable to products and applications indicated unless more stringent requirements apply. B. Grades of access route immediately serving the vault toilet shall comply with ADA requirements. C. Park Lake Day Use Toilet: Asphalt paving borders the existing toilet. It is anticipated the new toilet installation will either damage the existing asphalt surfaces or require installation of additional concrete flatwork to provide an accessible transition from the existing asphalt surface into the restroom. All concrete, grading, and/or other work required to provide a finished accessible concrete surface into the new restrooms is the contractor’s responsibility. See drawings for details. END OF SECTION 33 36 00 SECTION 33 36 50 – EXCAVATION PART 1 – GENERAL 1.01SUMMARY A. Work includes excavation, backfill, and any site work required for vault toilet installation. 1.02SUBMITTALS A. NA PART 2 – PRODUCTS 2.01EQUIPMENT A. General: Contractor shall supply equipment necessary to excavate the hole necessary to receive the new vault toilet. Equipment shall be capable of digging a 5 foot hole in the top of a mountain. PART 3 – EXECUTION 3.02INSTALLATION A. Contractor is responsible to conduct a utility locate prior to excavation. B. Excavate new hole at location staked by COR. Excavation shall comply with vault toilet manufactures installation instructions. END OF SECTION 33 36 50 -- 3 of 3 --
