ATTACHMENT A STATEMENT OF WORK for “Gas Cylinders & Liquid Nitrogen / Helium” 2026 The Ames Laboratory (referred to as “Laboratory”) conducts fundamental and applied research that helps the world to better understand fundamentals of chemistry, physics, and materials science. The Laboratory translates that knowledge into new and unique materials, processes, and technologies that advance the nation’s energy and economic competitiveness and enhance national security. To facilitate this work effort, the Laboratory requires a reliable source of high-quality compressed scientific gases, as well as liquid nitrogen and liquid helium. The objective of this Statement of Work is to procure gas cylinders and liquid nitrogen and helium on an as-needed basis and to procure materials that are the highest purity, quality, and quantity requested. It is imperative that the Supplier(s) meet the Laboratory’s requirements and expectation, as outlined below. The Supplier shall provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, management, operations, supervision, other items and logistic support as defined in this SOW for delivery and removal of gas cylinders, and liquid nitrogen and helium. The Supplier shall provide to the Laboratory the type and size of the compressed gas cylinders, dewars, and liquid nitrogen / helium as listed below on an as-needed basis. As the Laboratory cylinders are sent empty to the Supplier, they shall be refilled and returned on an automatic and immediate basis. • Products shall be delivered within one week of receipt of the Purchase Order Release. • Expedited product deliveries may be required depending on urgent needs to meet Laboratory demands. When the Laboratory requests an expedited delivery, the Supplier shall deliver within one (1) calendar day of receiving an order unless otherwise negotiated. • Prior to delivery, the Supplier shall ensure that none of the cylinders are leaking. • Cylinder deliveries are to be made to Ames Laboratory’s Warehouse at 2437 Kooser Drive, Ames, Iowa, 50011. • Supplier will provide company-owned, privately owned, or rental vehicles for transportation. Supplier vehicles must be properly insured to be driven on the Ames Laboratory site in accordance with the insurance requirements stipulated in Appendices C & D – Commercial Items and Services Terms and Conditions and its updates. • Deliveries of full and pick-up of empty cylinders and dewars will be free of charge, up to two times per week, on pre-arranged days of the week. 20- minute advance notice of arrival is requested (text or call), as well as pre- notification as soon as possible if delivery or pick up will not occur on the prearranged day(s). • Delivery tickets provided upon delivery shall include the BPA Number and PO Release Number, date delivered, description, and unique Supplier barcode number (if applicable). • Supplier will provide an itemized statement or receipt notating cylinders and dewars that are returned to Supplier. • Bulk Nitrogen and Helium must be delivered during non-business hours, 6 p.m. …
