What this opportunity is
The Department of Commerce is seeking a Total Small Business Set-Aside contract for a High-Frequency Dual-Channel Signal Synthesizer. The required item is a stable, phase-coherent two-channel RF synthesizer with a synthesizer enhancement options packet and instrumentation rack mount. This contract suits small businesses with expertise in electronics manufacturing, particularly those experienced in producing high-frequency and high-power radio-frequency equipment. Bidders should track the Combined Synopsis/Solicitation notice to stay informed about the procurement process.

TITLE: High-Frequency Dual-Channel Signal Synthesizer
Requesting Laboratory / Division / Group:
Communications Technology Laboratory
Spectrum Technology and Research Division
Shared Spectrum Metrology Group (675.03)
General Statement of Need:
Accurate noise characterization is critical for amplifiers and transistors. A new wide band
millimeter wave (mmWave) digital correlator measuring noise parameters based on a wave
model was recently developed that covers 4 GHz segment of the Ka band. Ka band has been
primarily used for high-capacity satellite communications, 5G/6G networks, and radar
applications. It provides wide bandwidth supporting high-speed data transfer and allowing
compact receivers. To down convert the mmWave signal, the key item is a stand-alone,
high-performance and stable radio-frequency dual-channel (or multi-channel) signal
synthesizer providing both precision magnitude and coherent phase as the local oscillators.
