Matchbox lasers from RPMC for SCALPSS 2.0 flight projects on CS-8 payloads

STATEMENT OF WORK 1.0 Introduction/Background: The Stereo Cameras for Lunar Plume-Surface Studies (SCALPSS) 2.0 project is looking to enhance the measurement data with the use of lasers. This purchase will be for a series of lasers for inclusion in the SCALPSS flight payloads which are being assembled for the Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) program CS-6 and CS-8 contracts, awarded to several lunar lander companies. Assembly of the flight payloads is to begin in Q4 CY2026. 2.0 Scope of Work: This SOW is for the SAT purchase (PR) of thirty-six (36) high power diode lasers purchased from RPMC, Inc., and manufactured by Integrated Optics. The lasers are specially configured for applications to the SCALPSS project based on ongoing collaboration between the Integrated Optics Team and the Langley SCALPSS Team. 3.0 Objectives: The quantity of 36 lasers shall have the following specifications: • High power laser diode module, 638 nm • Minimum of 250 mW measured optical output power • 50 micron core fiber diameter • Modulatable via programmable TTL input pulse, up to 10 kHz • Output SMA fiber type connector port 5.0 Deliverables: The SAT purchase (PR) shall include the following purchase from RPMC: • 36X 0638L-36A-NI-NT-NF Matchbox Series High Power Laser Diode Module • 2X AM-C11 USB DC Breakout Box for Single Wavelength Matchbox Laser The hardware shall be delivered to NASA Langley at the earliest opportunity, no later than October 2026.
