What this opportunity is

The Department of Commerce is seeking a multiwavelength tunable stable optical cavity system, specifically an optical reference cavity in a vacuum package, with precise specifications for laser wavelengths and temperature control. This opportunity is suited for small businesses in the optical and laser technology sectors, particularly those with capabilities in high-finesse optical systems. As a Combined Synopsis/Solicitation notice, interested vendors should track the opportunity closely and prepare to submit proposals rather than simply express interest.

Description

Use this document to detail specifications/requirements for an item and/or ancillary services. 🛈 TITLE: Multiwavelength Tunable Stable Optical Cavity System 🛈 Requesting Lab/Division/Group: PML/Time and Frequency Division/ADI (688.90) General Statement of Need 🛈 The project aims to develop chip-scaled voltage reference using Rydberg atoms. The development leverages precision laser spectroscopy probe atomic levels through multi-photon transition. The spectroscopy requires specific wavelengths to interact with the atomic media in the cells either with a high power green visible light to reach the highly excited Rydberg states combined with a near IR laser to probe or a visible laser for multiphoton transition. All laser has to be frequency stabilized to a refence and either with optical comb or stable optical reference cavity. Optical combs typically cost are significant higher with limited ports so a reference cavity would be a better choice. All items must be new. Prototypes, first articles, demonstration models, used, refurbished or otherwise developmental systems, will not be considered for award. Items and/or Ancillary Services 🛈 Item 1: optical reference cavity in a vacuum package Quantity: 1 Specifications: Specification 1.1 cavitity with finesse >10k for 852nm, 510 nm, 638 nm, 656 nm.
