ELECTRICAL SYSTEM REPAIRS AT SIX ALASKA NATIONAL PARKS
April 14, 2026
1. PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The work of this contract involves general electrical repairs identified during a previous building
inspection at six (6) national parks within the state of Alaska and as listed on Attachment 1 - Park
Electrical Repairs. Attachments 2 through 8 are provided as reference documents. During the
performance of work, the Contractor shall provide adequate professional supervision and quality
control to assure the accuracy, quality, and completeness of work. All work shall be performed or
directly supervised by an individulal possessing an Electrical Administrators License issued by the
State of Alaska. The project will be executed under a single contract.
2. DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:
Attachment 1 - Park Electrical Repairs provides a list of deficiencies which are the basis of this
contract. Contractor shall perform an initial site visit and facility walk through to familiarize
themselves with the work of this contract and field verify all new and existing dimensions affecting
the work before ordering products. Any discrepancies between contract specifications and field
conditions as well as any additional electrical code related issues not identified in Attachments l
through 8 listed above shall be brought to the attention of the Contracting Officer before any work
is to be performed.

3. SCHEDULE OF WORK AND SUBMITTALS:
A. Pre-performance Conference Submittal: Satisfactory evidence of liability insurance
coverage and workman’s compensation must be submitted within 10 calendar days of
Notice of Award. The following items shall be submitted a minimum of one week prior to
the Pre-performance Conference. If all of these documents have not been received one
week prior to the scheduled conference date, the conference will be cancelled, Notice to

Proceed may not be issued, and the Contracting Officer will consider other contractual
remedies. Work shall not commence until written Notice to Proceed has been issued.
Contracting Officer will notify Contractor of tentative date for the Pre-Construction
Conference:
1. Letter designating Project Superintendent.
2. Project Schedule. (Must include shop drawings, procurement time including long
lead time items, mobilization, trade work progression and completion at minimum.)
3. Accident Prevention (Safety) Plan
4. A list of Subcontractors if any for this project.
5. Written statements from subcontractors certifying compliance with applicable labor
standard clauses (SF1413).
6. Quality Control Plan.
B. Shop Drawings, Product Data, and Samples: Provide cut-sheets at least one week in
advance of all proposed and data completely describing all items intended for use in the
work. This data shall include the manufacturer and identifying number or nomenclature; the
manufacturer's published data as to size, capacity, power requirements and dimensions,
drawings as appropriate, and such other information as necessary to properly describe each
item. Catalog cuts indicating part numbers and fulfilling the requirements above will be
considered appropriate for this application. The NPS will conduct post-installation
inspections to verify all work is complete and satisfactory before final contract close out.
C. Weekly work progress reports including repairs completed organized by building with
pictures as appropriate shall be submitted electronically to the COR in pdf format.
4. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
This Section covers general electrical requirements during the work of this contract.
A. Any additional work that is performed without notifying the Contracting Officer will be
done at the Contractor's own expense.
B. If additional deficiencies not listed on Attachment 1 are found during the work of this
contract, the Contracting Officer may ask the Contractor for itemized pricing to correct the
new deficiencies.
C. All materials and equipment shall be of new condition from reputable manufacturers and
listed and labeled by an approved national testing laboratory. Final work shall result in
complete, safe, and functional electrical systems.
D. CODES: All execution of work shall comply with the latest adopted editions of the
National Electrical Code (NEC), all applicable NFPA Codes, OSHA Regulations the
National Electrical Installation Standards (NEIS) by the National Electrical Contractors
Association (NECA), and all applicable Federal, State and Local laws and regulations. All

materials shall be installed in a neat, orderly, and secure fashion, as required by these
specifications and commonly recognized standards of good workmanship.
E. GROUNDING: All grounding conductors and bonding jumpers shall be copper (absolutely
no aluminum substitution permitted), sized according to the NEC. Where separate
equipment grounding conductors are called for, they shall be green insulated where run
with branch circuits and feeders.
F. CONDUCTORS AND CABLES: Color‐coding throughout the entire installation shall be
as follows:
All conductors shall be protected from damage. Where the conductor or insulation is
damaged, the National Park Service may require, at no cost to the National Park Service,
the replacement of the entire conductor, or the implementation of an approved repair
method approved by the National Park Service.
G. ELECTRICAL WORK EXPOSED TO WEATHER: All enclosures and equipment shall
be weathertight and shall be NEMA rated for the environment. All ferrous metal shall be
