Statement of Work
1. Objective/Requirements
NASA Langley Research Center requires the purchase of the following 5kV Metal
Switchgear from Elgin Power Solutions to replace the existing switchgear at the
Building 1247 Complex.
2. Characteristics, Scope, and Specs
The contractor shall provide the following equipment to NASA LaRC:
5kV Metal Switchgear
Approximate dimensions are: 90"H x 144"W x 98"D.
Enclosure shall be fabricated from 11 gauge steel and painted ANSI 70 light gray and will
contain the following:
(2) Mechanical switches, rated 5kV, 4000 amps, 100kAIC, three-phase with 120VAC
control voltage.
(12) Current Transformers - 4000:5
(4) Voltage Transformers - 2400:120
(2) Viewing windows for switches
(1 Lot) Kirk-Key Interlock
(1 Lot) Door hardware, handles, latches as required for proper assembly.
(1 Lot) Terminal blocks, 5kV class insulators, Panduit control wire tray(s), glastic-GPO-3
insulating material (as needed).
(1 Lot) Lexan touch proof barriers behind each door of the switchgear or metering
sections.
(1 Lot) Copper bus installed on 5kV class stand-off type insulators.
(1 Lot) Raychem applied around bus.
Optional Price Adder: Maintenance Kit
(1) Mechanical switches, rated 5kV, 4000 amps, 100kAIC, three-phase with 120VAC
