Amendment 0001 to answer questions
Question #1 - Our request is that the definition on your slide 33, item 2) would be altered to …Tooling and machinery used for short-run prototype production (e.g. lasts, molds and corresponding laboratory equipment), …
Answer #1 - The intent for this project and funding is to support re-shoring of the domestic footwear industry, improve capabilities for the domestic military footwear industrial base, and ultimately provide the best performing footwear technology to the Warfighter. Funding for this project is limited to scope of work that will improve manufacturing processes for US.-based manufacturing facilities currently or planning to manufacture military footwear. If any RFI responses include items that do not fit within the following statement, a clear justification should be included in the response to state how it will directly impact the advancement of manufacturing processes. “Tooling used for short-run prototype production (e.g. lasts or molds), as well as consumables, prototype materials, labor, and short-term leases, are considered allowable project expenses.”
Question #2: The posting makes a reference to providing a cover page, company capability statement, and project description. I wanted to confirm does this need to be provided by June 5th? If so, what format (PowerPoint, Word, etc.) would you like this in?
