The Government requires purchase of 8 pairs of Test bearings, 7322 sized Angular Contact ball bearings. Vibration monitoring efforts have shown the standard anderometer test as listed in the current specification MIL-DTL-17931F are not sufficient for maintaining acceptable vibration levels. These bearings are core to specialized vibration testing SEA08 has tasked NSWCCD with conducting. New test bearings must be acquired for testing and development of revised vibration acceptance criteria. 2.0 BACKGROUND: The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD) is the responsible Navy activity for vibration- testing ball bearings made to meet MIL-DTL-17931F. Sample lots of bearings must be tested on an Anderometer (three-band vibration measurement) and satisfy specific vibration test requirements in accordance with MIL-DTL-17931F to be accepted by the Navy as noise-tested (NT) bearings. 3.0 OBJECTIVE: 3.1 The contractor shall provide 8 Pairs of 7322 Angular Contact Ball Bearings (ACBBs) manufactured to MIL-DTL-17931F, with any accompanying technical information (specifically any OEM-provided vibration data) provided to NSWCCD. If no accompanying technical information for these bearings was provided by the OEM, the bearings alone may be sent to NSWCCD. 3.1.1 Base option: 2 Pairs of 7322 Angular Contact Ball Bearings 3.1.2 Option 1: 2 Pairs of 7322 Angular Contact Ball Bearings 3.1.3 Option 2: 2 Pairs of 7322 Angular Contact Ball Bearings 3.1.4 Option 3: 2 Pairs of 7322 Angular Contact Ball Bearings 3.2 The contractor shall accomplish N/A 4.0 SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS: 4.1 Contractor shall provide Schaeffler brand 7322 ACBB's.
