GENERAL INFORMATION
1.0 Scope of Work: Procurement of SmartApply smart sprayer components for prototype
systems for counting trees.
2.0 Background: The Application Technology Research Unit in Wooster, Ohio is conducting
research with partial funds provided by NIFA and North Carolina State University to
develop an automatic system to be used for nursery inventory. Parts of this system were
made commercially available through John Deere. The concept of this system is based on
the original intelligent sprayer control systems developed here in Wooster at the USDA
ATRU. These parts now are being purchased to build automatic nursery inventory
prototypes without performing automatic spray functions.
CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS
3.0 Technical Requirements/Tasks: Provide and deliver components for four prototype
systems (not including LIDAR sensors, GPS receivers, and control boxes), SmartApply
brand name only, as follows:
• Quantity of 4: BU48278 – Ruggon Tablet kit
• Quantity of 4: BU48522 – Ruggon tablet interface Accessories Kits
• Quantity of 4: BU48518 – LIDAR Harness Kit, Smart Apply
• Quantity of 4: ISS61001105 – Harness, 50" Gen2 GPS Antenna
• Quantity of 4: ISS6100123 – Harness
