STATEMENT OF WORK
FOR
USAFADS “Thunderbirds”
BACKGROUND: The USAFADS “Thunderbirds” is the U.S. Air Force’s premier air
demonstration squadron, performing and recruiting globally. With frequent team member
rotations, and daily use of Thunderbird specific uniforms, it is difficult to predict when and
how much material we will need on a monthly basis. In relation to these challenges, we are
request a local BPA, blanket purchase agreement, established for our uniform alteration
requirements.
1. SCOPE: Uniform Alterations
2. LOCATION: USAFADS Thunderbirds Building 292, 4445 Tyndall Ave., Nellis AFB, NV, 89191
3. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The work to be accomplished under this agreement shall include:
3.1 Making alterations to ALL Thunderbird duty uniform, and/or Show suit, shirt to include:
Adjust sleeve length in/out, sew crease on inside/outside of sleeve, adjust body of shirt
in/out and/or up/down, sew crease on inside body along sides, apply/remove rank
insignia, apply Thunderbird logo patch and meatball Velcro (patches will be provided).
3.2 Making alterations to ALL Thunderbird duty uniform, and/or Show suit, pant to include:
Adjust pant length in/out, adjust body of pant in/out, adjust waistband in/out, sew
crease on front/back of pant legs, sew front pockets down.
3.3 Repair any/ALL uniform items that are deemed still serviceable with repair. These
repairs shall be deemed minor by the alterations professional, Thunderbird 10
(USAFADS/CCE), and the Thunderbirds uniform supply manager. This shall include
repairing/re-altering uniforms not deemed “show quality”.
3.4 Apply/remove Thunderbird patch to fleece, Black Polo and flight suits.
3.5 Apply/remove V elcro on flight suit chest and sleeve.
3.6 Remove pen/knife pocket from flight suit.
3.7 Sew rank set onto flight suits and show uniform.
4. COORDINATING and SCHEDULING: Seamstress shall coordinate all drop-off and delivery
times through one of the individuals on the authorized call list.
4.1 Alterations shall be completed at the seamstress’s earliest convenience, but no longer
than one week from the time the customer drops off the item(s) to be altered/repaired.

4.2 All work requirements shall be documented upon initial request and must be agreed
upon at time of drop-off.
4.3 Pick-up/drop-off, sizing, and pinning will be performed at the Thunderbirds building, at
1400 hours every Tuesday, excluding Federal holidays.
4.4 Thunderbird 10 (USAFADS/CCE) will provide list of personnel requesting alterations to
seamstress. Members requesting alterations outside of this list will not be authorized
alterations, unless approved by uniform Thunderbird 10 (USAFADS/CCE).
5. INSPECTION: Members requesting alterations/repairs will inspect all uniform items within
5 days of receipt. Thunderbird 10 (USAFADS/CCE) has the right to return the item for
correction.
6. QUALIFICATIONS: Seamstress shall conform all tailoring to military standards IAW AFI36-
2903, and Thunderbird specific guidance as well as current/historical data.
7. SECURITY: The seamstress shall provide physical security for the materials and work under
their control.
8. PRODUCT DAMAGE: Seamstress shall be responsible for any damage to the product caused
by their personnel and will repair said damage to the satisfaction of the Contracting
Officer at no expense to the Government.
9. SAFETY: Seamstress shall take any necessary actions to ensure a safe working environment.
