Period of Performance:
The period of performance for this project must be done while the cutter is in port and must
be coordinated with the Point of Contact, BMC Hillary Burnett. Projected time to complete
this project is 48 Hours.
1.0 Summary of Work
This Statement of Work outlines the requirements for a contractor to provide all necessary
labor, equipment, and materials to perform corrosion correction and apply preventative
coatings to the aluminum awning frames, and to replace the canvas awnings on the Coast
Guard Cutter William Flores.
2.0 Scope of Work
The contractor shall perform the following tasks for both the front and rear awnings of the
cutter:
2.1 Canvas Removal: Carefully remove the existing canvas canopy covers from the
aluminum frames.
2.2 Frame Preparation:
Thoroughly clean and polish the aluminum frames.
Sand the frames as necessary to completely remove all signs of corrosion.
2.3 Protective Coating Application:
Apply a clear polymer ceramic coating to the entire awning structure. The
coating must provide anti-corrosion, anti-rust, and UV protection.

The application must be performed in strict accordance with the
manufacturer’s instructions.
2.4 Canvas Installation:
Install new canvas awnings on the front and rear frames.
Securely re-tie the new canvas to the frames.
3.0 General Requirements & Site Procedures
3.1 Coordination: The contractor must coordinate all work with the designated
Contracting OƯicer’s Representative (COR) to ensure minimal interference with
government personnel and other ongoing operations.
3.2 Work Schedule:
Work is restricted to normal business hours: 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday
through Friday.
Any work required outside these hours, or on weekends/holidays, must be
requested at least 72 hours in advance and approved by the COR.
The contractor must provide a one-week advance notification to the COR
before commencing work on-site.
3.3 Site Access & Storage: The COR will designate specific areas for material storage
and contractor operations. The contractor will have limited access to the project
site.
3.4 Site Maintenance & Safety:
The contractor is responsible for daily cleanup of the worksite, storage areas,
and any dumpsters used.
Appropriate measures must be taken to prevent the spread of dust and
debris.
