Quarterly Pumping Service for Lift Stations
General Information
1.0 Scope of Work
Contractor will remove any debris in the lift stations and hardened grease in the grease trap on a quarterly maintenance
schedule. There are two lift stations and 1 grease trap on premises. The vendor will need to:
• Pump truck service to pump and clean the lift station behind Education.
• Pump inground grease trap beside the Dining Hall.
• Auger line maintenance for the service line from the dining hall to the sewage pit.
• Pump truck service to pump and clean the main lift station.
2.0 Background
Flatwoods Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center is one of 24 centers that are known as Civilian Conservation Centers.
These centers are operated by the U.S. Forest Service and encourage students to learn in nature and work to sustain and
improve the land they live on. By embracing their natural surroundings, students at these centers are able to train in
additional career fields, including wildland firefighting and forestry conservation. The Flatwood JCC located at 2803
Dungannon Rd Coeburn, VA 24230, is currently looking for a vendor to service its lift stations and grease trap. This
service is required to help prevent debris from entering the pumps and damaging them. And clogging up lines and
causing back flow, which would significantly interrupt the operations of the Flatwood JCC.
Contractor Requirements
3.0 Technical Requirements / Tasks
• Must be able to auger drain line inside of Dining Hall’s kitchen.
• Must be able to pump inground grease trap next to dining hall to remove all hardened grease.
• Must be able to pump debris and water out of lift station behind the Education building.
• Must be able to pump debris and water out of lift station behind the Welding shop (main lift station)
Water is available next to each area to assist in cleaning the lift stations. Both lift stations should be clean and free from
any trash or debris.
Maintenance staff will ensure the work is done properly. The only facility that will require access is the Dining Hall when
the contractor augers out the main drain line. The grease trap and both lift stations are on site and accessible from
outside any building. Contractors will coordinate a schedule with AWPO/Maintenance staff for work to be done during
normal business hours.
