This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Government reserves the right to make no award from this solicitation. * The deadline for all questions is 08:00am MST, June 8, 2026. All questions must be submitted in writing no later than the question cut-off date marked above. All questions will be answered officially through an amendment to the solicitation. ** Quotes are to be provided to kenneth.finchum@va.gov no later than 12:00PM MST, June 11, 2026. Quotes shall not be hand carried. Faxed quotes shall not be accepted. Emailed quotes are the only method of submitted quotes (4MB email limit). The current refrigerators on the wards and units are residential grade refrigerator/freezer combinations that do not consistently maintain temperatures as monitored by TempTrak®. Due to the risk of loss of quality and safety of the foods items provided by NFS, NFS has resorted to only providing shelf-stable items (i.e., juice, pudding, etc.). This does not account for Veteran food items that may be placed in the fridge. It is ideal for each of the nine units to have a commercial grade refrigerator/freezer. Project Scope The VA Salt Lake City Healthcare system, Nursing service is requesting nine commercial grade two section refrigerator/freezer units for each inpatient ward/unit to support higher quality temperature control. It is ideal for each unit to be identical. Performance Requirements The dual temperature fridge/freezer unit will be stainless steel inside and out, with epoxy coated shelves (or other washable surface) that are adjustable. Door must be able to be right hinged or left hinged to accommodate the spaces and needs of the various patient care wards. Three units need a left-hinged door (2E, IPU-C, SARRTP-A) and six units need a right-hinged door (Tele, 3W, 2W, ICU, IPU-D, SARRTP-C). The dual temperature freezer and refrigerator have separate refrigeration systems/condensers There must be digital temperature display and controls. The space for each unit should not be larger than 28” wide, 80” height and 35” deep (30”(w), 80”(h), 35”(d). Approximately 10 ft3 refrigerator and 10 ft3 freezer. Each unit should have 4 casters, with 2 locking front casters Specifications: 110 V electrical capacity LED interior lighting Large evaporator and coil for shorter recovery time with ability to hold temp of 33 °F to 38 °F (refrigerator) and 0-10°F (freezer).
