Description

Bureau of Land Management Albuquerque District Office – Rio Puerco Field Office NCA Picnic Shelters for the Joe Skeen Campground and The Narrows Picnic Area Statement of Work Background The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Albuquerque District Office (ADO) - Rio Puerco Field Office (RPFO), seeks to purchase steel picnic shelters for the National Conservation Area (NCA) Joe Skeen Campground and the NCA Narrows Picnic Area in west central New Mexico, see delivery street address, 202 Smokey Circle Grants, NM, 87020. The Picnic Shelters shall meet the minimum required specifications. Structures shall be designed to meet site specific (either Grants, NM, 87020 or Joe Skeen Campground LAT: 34.943504°, LONG:-107.820399°) snow and wind load design criteria using most current applicable building codes. Minimum Specifications: Length x Width 16 feet x 16 feet to roofline (7 each): all steel, square, hip roof shelters Length x Width 20 feet x 20 feet to roofline (1 each): all steel, square, hip roof shelters Height: 7 ft, 6 in. eave height Roof Pitch: 4:12 Ground snow load: To be determined by site specific design ____ psf Wind speed loading: To be determined by site specific design ____ mph 2018 IBC, or newer for numbers 5 & 6 Quantity: 8 Total: 7 each 16 x 16 and 1 each 20 x 20. Structural Members: Manufacturer shall supply complete detailed drawings bearing the seal of a licensed engineer, design data, erection plan, specifications, and installation detailed instructions, Manufacturer shall supply a foundation/footing design and drawings for the area in which the structures will be installed and shall bear the seal of a licensed engineer. All structural steel tubing utilized shall be ASTM A-500 Grade B/C (46-50 ksi yield strength / 58 -62 ksi tensile strength). All structural plates, gussets etc. shall conform to ASTM A-36 (36 ksi yield strength / 58-80 ksi tensile strength). All welding is to be done in accordance with the latest AWS standards. All welds shall develop the full strength of the weaker member. Fabricated welded assemblies will be performed by the manufacturer. Hollow steel members shall be welded shut at termination points to prevent internal leakage. A small hole to allow shrink/swell and drainage is allowable. (bolted baseplate to column connections are not acceptable.) Field assembly connections will be indicated on the set-up drawings. Installation Hardware: All required fasteners are provided for construction of the shelter. Uncoated hardware will be used in hidden applications and zinc plated or galvanized hardware will be used in exposed applications. All fastening hardware bolts shall comply with ASTM A325. Threaded rod applications shall comply with ASTM B7. Washers shall comply with ASTM F436. Hex nuts shall comply with ASTM A563. Upon request, stainless steel hardware can be used for exposed applications. Stainless steel hardware shall comply with ASTM A-304. Anchor Bolts: Headed anchor bolts shall comply with F1554 grade 36. Higher grades may be used for specific applications. Templates will be provided by the manufacturer for setting of anchors in concrete. Coating: All fabricated steel members will be primed, and powder coated. Roof panels shall be 26 gauge minimum, color determined by manufacturers color palette at time of order in color for the 7 each - 16’ x 16’. Vendor must Submit color chart for final selection and approval prior to fabrication. Delivery Notification: The Contractor is required to notify the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) at least five working days prior to delivery. This advance notice ensures sufficient time for arranging the inspection and acceptance of the product. Delivery Times: Delivery shall be conducted during normal business hours, see Delivery Address. Between 9:30 am – 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday. (excluding holidays). The Contractor shall be responsible for notifying Contract Carriers of the scheduled delivery times. Responsibility for Delivery: The Contractor shall be responsible for the proper care and protection of the product until it is accepted by the COR. Special care should be taken to ensure that the product is delivered in its entirety and undamaged to the delivery destination. BLM is responsible for offloading. Transportation/Freight Charges: The Contractor shall bear all costs associated with the transportation of freight from the manufacturer to the delivery destination.
