3. Background: The Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System (GCVHCS) Sterile Processing Service utilizes the
CensiTrac system to track reusable medical equipment (RME) and instrument trays. Several existing scanners and pritners
are unserviceable and require replacement to maintain uniteruppted tracking and documentation.
4. Scope: The Sterile Processing Service would like to procure eight (8) Zebra Cordless Scanners and eight (8) Zebra
Label Printers from Censis to use with the CensiTrac System currently installed. This equipment is needed for tracking
reusable medical devices for surgical and clinical operations.
5. Specifications/Characteristics:
• Brand name or equal equipment must be fully compatible with the CensiTrack system currently installed
at the facility. Only Censis-authorized and Censis-certified scanners/printers are compatible with the
proprietary software. Market research indicates no other vendors produces devices certified for use with
CensiTrac.
• Cordless Bar Code Scanners and cradle:
o Must have a base with a USB connection to attach to workstations.
o Must be able to scan barcoded labels for containers, case carts, locations, equipment, and peel
packed items in areas where greater mobility is required.
• Zebra Label Printers:
o Can be attached locally to a PC and set up as a shared printer.
o Must be able to print barcode labels that are applied to containers, case carts, locations,
equipment, scopes, and peel packed items.
o Thermal Transfer Barcode Printer.
• One-time delivery order. All equipment shall be delivered within 30 days of awarded contract.
• Items must be new, not refurbished. Any damages/shortages are the vendor’s responsibility.
The C&A requirements do not apply, and a Security Accreditation Package is not required.
