Part 1: The Work
This part of the Statement of Work (SOW) defines the project-specific scope and technical
requirements.
1.0 Scope of Work
This SOW governs the performance of work associated with the delivery and installation of
of the steel substructure of the mechanical mezzanine located at Building 254.
2.0 Background
The mezzanine of building 254 was repurposed as a mechanical space during a recent
renovation. During construction, a circulator pump and hydro-pneumatic tank were
installed and were later found to exceed the design capacity of the mezzanine slab. This
project will add three (3) C-channel steel beams under the equipment housekeeping slab
to reduce stress to the slab.
3.0 Existing Site Conditions
The area of concern of the mezzanine floor slab currently spans between an existing
24WF94 and a10WF25 beams at approximately 6’ 7” on center. On top of the mezzanine
slab, the equipment of concern sits on a 7’ x 4’ x 6” concrete housekeeping pad.
3.1 Site operating hours & constraints:
• Normal project work hours are defined as 0600-1530, Monday through Friday.
• Work outside of these hours or on Federal holidays requires written approval from
the COR submitted at least 72 hours in advance.
• The site will be closed, and no work is permitted, on all Federal holidays or Drill
weekend.
3.2 Base Access & Badging. The contractor will be required to submit all necessary
documentation for base access and badging within 10 days of contract award. Additional
information will be required to specific site access.
4.0 Project Overview
Contractor will install under-slab support consisting of three (3) new C6x8.2 beams
spanning the 24WF94 and 10WF25 members (as identified in the drawings). The first will
be located directly below the center of the hydro-pneumatic tank and the others offset two
feet (2) on center to support the remainder of the pad. The new beams will be welded to
the existing members as detailed in Attachment 1, Section #1.

4.1 Special Requirements: The contractor will be required to obtain a hot work permit from
the Pease Fire Department. The Government will provide the necessary application form
upon contract award. The contractor must then return the form within 10 days of contract
award to begin hot work approval process.
4.2 Utilities: The Government shall provide access to utilities as available at worksite. Any
equipment specific utilities that do not exist in the worksite will be on the Contractor to
provide.
5.0 Detailed Description of Work
The Contractor shall furnish all management, labor, materials, equipment, and supervision
required to complete the work as described herein. which defines the minimum standard
for materials, quality, and workmanship.
• Task 1: Provide all materials and equipment required to meet the objective of this
contract. Fabrication of structural members and connections will be the
responsibility of the contractor to ensure proper fit and finish.
• Description: Determine exact location that new structural members will be
installed and validate all required measurements to have these members
and their connections fabricated.
• Governing Standard: All work will conform to AWS D1.1:2025
• Task 2: Install three (3) C-channel steel beams under the equipment housekeeping
slab by welding, as detailed in Attachment 1, to the existing Wide Flange beams.
• Description: Clear paint in the proximity of area to be welded and prep
surfaces as required prior to welding. Ensure proper fitment (square, level,
evenly spaced) and weld members in place to provide a clean, professional
and structurally sound product. All C-channel members should be oriented
in the same direction. Shim any gaps between the C-channel and the
existing slab bottom face. Once installed, coat all surfaces to match
existing.
• Governing Standard: All work will conform to AWS D1.1:2025
