SECTION 01010 – SUMMARY OF WORK
NOTE: The Davis-Monthan Air Force Base Construction Project Guidelines (February 2025)
requirements and those defined in the following section may directly affect the Contractor’s overhead for
completing the scope of work. Failure on the part of the Contractor to adequately review this section and
identify/clarify any requirements herein will not constitute justification of Contractor claims for additional
design and/or construction costs.
1. SUMMARY OF WORK
1.1 Work Included in this Contract: The following descriptions are for general reference only and shall
not be construed as a complete list of all operations to be performed. Work is expected to be
accomplished under the issuance of multiple separate and distinct task orders throughout the contract
ordering period. Perform all operations associated with street and parking lot repair to include demolition,
utility work, subgrade preparation, concrete curb, base course, asphalt surface, sidewalk, striping,
drainage, etc. per the following item descriptions:
0001AA – Mobilization and De-mobilization (Light): Transport of personnel and equipment to and
from the job site to accomplish all procedures necessary to perform the construction and/or repair of a
pavement facility, e.g. street, parking lot, etc. Included is up to a 25-mile haul distance (50-mile round
trip for mob/demob) for one piece of light (up to 3 ton) equipment (i.e. sweeper, bobcat, etc.) hauled
on a 3-ton capacity towed trailer. A quantity of one includes mobilization and de-mobilization of one
piece of equipment.
0001AB – Mobilization and De-mobilization (Medium): Transport of personnel and equipment to
and from the job site to accomplish all procedures necessary to perform the construction and/or repair
of a pavement facility, e.g. street, parking lot, etc. Included is up to a 25-mile haul distance (50-mile
round trip for mob/demob) for one piece of medium (more than 3 tons and up to 20 tons) equipment
(i.e. backhoe, loader, grader, etc.) hauled on a 20-ton capacity towed trailer. A quantity of one
includes mobilization and de-mobilization of one piece of equipment.
0001AC – Mobilization and De-mobilization (Heavy): Transport of personnel and equipment to
and from the job site to accomplish all procedures necessary to perform the construction and/or repair
of a pavement facility, e.g. street, parking lot, etc. Included is up to a 25-mile haul distance (50-mile
round trip for mob/demob) for one piece of heavy (more than 40 ton and up to 40 ton) equipment (i.e.
roller, scraper, cold plane miller, etc.) hauled on a 40-ton capacity towed trailer. A quantity of one
includes mobilization and de-mobilization of one piece of equipment.
0001AD – Mobilization and De-mobilization (Truck Mounted Crane): Transport of personnel and
equipment to and from the job site to accomplish all procedures necessary to perform the
construction and/or repair of a pavement facility, e.g. street, parking lot, etc. Included is up to a 25-
mile haul distance (50-mile round trip for mob/demob) for one truck-mounted crane up to a 75-ton
capacity. A quantity of one includes mobilization and de-mobilization of one piece of equipment.
0001AE – Cold Mill Asphalt Pavement: Cold plane asphalt pavement from 1-inch to 3-inches in
thickness. Clean the milled surface of loose debris and load into trucks for removal from site. Typical
task order will be no more than 10,000 square yards. Work includes loading milled asphalt into trucks
but does not include removal from site (hauling) nor disposal. Work will be accomplished in
accordance with Section 02070 of the Contract Specifications.
0001AF – Remove Asphalt Pavement up to 3-inches thick: Removal of asphaltic concrete
pavement by means other than cold plane milling. Work includes loading removed asphalt into trucks
but does not include removal from site (hauling) nor disposal.
0001AG – Pulverize 4-inches Asphalt Pavement, stabilize to 6-inches in-place: Pulverize asphalt
roadways and towpaths to a depth of 4-inches in place and blend with existing base. Typical task
order will be no more than 15,000 square yards. Provide Portland cement delivered and spread
evenly over pulverized area at a rate of 6 percent by volume and mix evenly to a depth of 6-inches…
