1. Contract Position Title: Protestant Worship Leader
2. Scope of Responsibilities: The Protestant Worship Leader provides services as
musician and Music Team Leader for the Protestant Worship Service.
3. Qualifications of the Protestant Worship Leader: The Protestant Worship Leader shall
–
3.1. Be proficient at playing guitar or piano, singing, and leading worship for Protestant
Services.
3.2. Be able to sight-read music and/or play by ear.
3.3. Be familiar with and able to play, and teach others to play, a variety of Contemporary,
Modern, and Traditional (Hymns) worship songs common in Protestant worship.
3.4. Be able to recruit volunteers and lead a team of individuals forming a worship team.
3.5. Be able to conduct worship practices, select music, and stay current with music
CCLI (Christian Copyright Licensing International) licenses posted on worship music
(both printed and digitally displayed).
3.6. Have a working knowledge of audio-visual equipment and other sound equipment
such as sound systems and projectors. Be capable of leading the person assigned to
audio-visual equipment.
3.7. Have a strong theological grasp of the Protestant faith and have openness to a wide
variety of faith expressions within the Protestant community. Also, be able to
demonstrate the ability to clearly express the details of basic Christian doctrine.
3.8. Be committed to Christ-Centered Worship, sound doctrine, prayer, disciple-making,
genuine fellowship, and be able to help people connect and engage with God through
worship.
3.9. Be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
3.10. Be able to communicate written and orally in English.
3.11. Function as a team member in a pluralistic environment working with
Chaplains, staff, Contractors, and volunteers.

3.12. Present a neat appearance and shall dress in a conservative and professional
manner appropriate for an office and/or worship environment.
4. General Responsibilities: The Protestant Worship Leader shall –
4.1. Provide music for the Protestant Worship Service at Chapel facilities.
4.2. Recruit, train, and lead the Protestant Worship Service music team.
4.3. Professionally follow guidance related to the Protestant Worship Service provided
by the Contract Officer, designated representative, the service Chaplain, or the Chaplain
in charge of the Protestant service.
5. Specific Responsibilities: The Protestant Worship Leader shall –
5.1. Lead worship at the Protestant Worship Service.
5.2. Lead the worship team both during the Protestant Worship Service and during
scheduled practice/rehearsal. Current practice schedule is Saturday morning from
1000-1200 but can be adjusted to fit needs.
5.3. Choose musical selections and provide printed lyrics for practice and for worship
during the Protestant Worship Service and be familiar with the current platform called
Planning Center.
5.4. Coordinate song selections with the service Chaplain.
5.5. Meet and comply with the musical and professional standards of the service
Chaplain, head Protestant Chaplain, and the 17 TRW/HC staff.
5.6. Comply with all information security and CCLI requirements.
5.7. Return music areas both on stage and storage closet to a neat and orderly condition at
the end of each rehearsal/service, to include returning musical instruments, microphones,
music stands, cables, speakers, monitors, and music to their place.
5.8. Ensure all musical and electronic equipment used is turned off after use.
5.9. Ensure facility needed is scheduled for the rehearsal/service.
5.10. Coordinate all events for the Protestant Worship Service that requires worship with
the service Chaplain, or the Chaplain in charge of the Protestant service.
6. Criminal History Background Checks: The Contractor shall –
6.l. The Contractor will apply for a background check to be provided to the Non-
Commissioned Officer In-Charge (NCOIC) for Religious Affairs according to

Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI) 1402.05, Background Checks on Individuals
in DoD Child Care Services Programs. The government will perform all required
background checks. Contractors who have previously been awarded a background check
must provide proof of the check or obtain a new one.
6.2. The Contractor may be permitted to work before the completion of the background
checks,
provided he/she is within sight of an individual who has successfully completed a
background check.
6.3. Authorized recipients of background check results are the NCOIC for Religious
Affairs and the Wing Chaplain.
6.4. The Contractor has a right to obtain the background check report from the
NCOIC for Religious Affairs and challenge the accuracy of the report with the
reporting agency.
7. Security Requirement: The Contractor shall –
7.1. Coordinate access to Goodfellow AFB through 17 TRW/HC annually. The
Contractor shall obtain vehicle passes for each vehicle used on Goodfellow AFB during
the period of performance. The necessary application for vehicle passes and base access
letters will be coordinated between the Contractor and the COR.
7.2. Comply with all regulations, customs, and courtesies while on the installation.
7.3. Be responsible for safeguarding Government property associated with the required
work. At the close of each work period, facilities, equipment, and materials shall be
secured and cleaned according to the facility Operating Instructions (OI). This includes
locking extenal doors when leaving the facility, locking internal doors as necessary to
protect Government property, and limiting access to phones.
7.4. Ensure that all keys, if any issued to the Protestant Worship Leader by the
Government are not vulnerable to usage by unauthorized persons. No keys/codes issued to
the Protestant Worship Leader by the Government shall be duplicated or otherwise
compromised.
7.5. The Contractor will comply with all Air Force computer and information
security requirements.
