Description
GRTE Headquarters Chiller Replacement SOW
Replace ClimaCool heat pump/ chiller.
The purpose of this project is to replace the failing ClimaCool Heat Pump/ Chiller at the Headquarters Building in Grand Teton National Park. The heat pump is a 3 module ClimaCool model UCH070AHASAHB0S. Each module has 2 compressors, 70 ton units. This shall be a direct replacement with an updated model and updated refrigerant (not R410A) and controls (or approved equivalent). The new model must have the ability to heat and cool simultaneously.
The chiller replacement will include all components of the ClimaCool Model UCH070AHASAHB0S, Serials # P10421901, P10421902, and P10421903. This includes, but not limited to: controls, piping, electrical (208-230v 3ph), and glycol. This contract will include the demolition, removal and disposal of the existing heat pump (including all components, refrigerant, glycol, piping, wire, etc.) as well as the purchase and installation of the new heat pump. The new heat pump MUST connect to the already existing piping and current floor plan of the appliance, as well as integrate with the existing control panel. The new heat pump will be connected to the existing control panel and include any updated software to ensure proper operation. This includes any connection to the existing building automation system and may include working with the controls company to ensure proper operation. The building automation is Long Building Technologies. The heating/ cooling capacity (tonnage) must match the existing model and provide equal or better performance.
Scope of Work:
Procure and install 3 new ClimaCool heat pump modules to replace the failing ClimaCool model UCH070AHASAHB0S. Alternates may be considered.
Demo and dispose of existing heat pump and all associated components, including but not limited to, refrigeration, glycol, wire, piping.
Install new heat pump modules to connect with existing piping and existing floor plan, including: All piping and electrical connections, all required refrigerant to manufacture specifications, glycol/ water mixture to maintain local area freeze protection and proper working pressures.
Update heat pump controls to meet the requirements of the new modules including all software updates and ensure proper operation with the building automation system.
Install all necessary electrical wiring and controls per manufacturer specifications.
After Installation ensure that all compressors are operating at manufacturers recommended pressure, superheat and subcool, adjust as needed.
Adjust superheat, and pressures on all 6 compressors for modules 1, 2, & 3 for proper operation. Ensure entire chiller is running at manufacturers recommendations.
Add water/ glycol to meet required operating pressures and flow rates.
Verify water flow through the chiller to ensure manufacturers requirements are met. Clean strainers and heat exchangers as needed.
Ensure all required commissioning is completed per manufacturer requirements.
Technical Requirements
Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, supplies, and tools to perform the above work, at its sole cost and expense unless otherwise stated in section 0100 Government Furnished Materials:

GFM will not be supplied on this contract.
02 Contractor Furnished Materials
The Contractor shall provide their own tools and Personal Protection Equipment for completing all work in this contract. The contractor shall provide all materials, equipment, supplies, testing equipment, etc., as necessary to perform all task orders under this contract, unless listed as Government Furnished Materials (GFM).
03 Disposal
Disposal of building and construction material shall be the responsibility of the contractor. At no point shall excess debris or building materials be allowed to accumulate outside. All disposal will be out of the park. All refrigerant shall be disposed of per EPA requirements.
04 Work Products
1. Contractor shall conform to all current building codes.
2. All lodging shall be the responsibility of the contractor.
Performance
All work shall take place in Moose Wyoming, located in Grand Teton National Park.
Work will be completed during normal business hours Monday – Friday 7am to 5pm Mountain Time.
All work must be completed before the heating season begins.
