Scope of Work: These specifications, together with the referenced specifications, standards, and drawings specified in the contract documents, covers the requirements for all work associated with the replacement of the humidifiers HU-205A & B, HU-209A & B, HU-390 and HU-390B serving various air handlers at the Minneapolis Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC) in Farmington, Minnesota. The Work includes, but is not limited to: 1. Replace AHU-205A & B, AHU-209A & B, AHU-390, and AHU-390B Steam Humidifiers: a. Follow facility humidifier shutdown and isolation procedure and take affected humidifiers out of service. Coordinate work with facility through the FAA COR. b. Provide Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) of all affected electrical power circuits and control wiring circuits on the humidifier removal and replacement. A control bypass may have to be put-in-placed within the DDC system (Environmental Control and Monitoring System). c. Disconnect electrical power connection to the humidifiers including removal of affected conduits. d. Disconnect steam hoses and affected steam and condensate piping from humidifiers and air gap drain. Temporarily cap off steam dispersion panel located at the ducts. e. Turn off affected AHU. Remove existing steam dispersion panel and install new panel in same location. Place AHU back in service. f. Turn off and disconnect make-up water source. Water shut off valve located in auto wing second floor chase. g. Remove humidifiers. h. Reuse existing humidifier support frame. Provide and fabricate new frame if necessary for proper installation of new unit. i. Ensure leak-free installation on all fabricated piping. j. Fabricate and install air-gap assembly. k. Install new humidifiers. (Install in accordance with manufacturer instructions and specifications.) l. Complete all drain piping from each humidifier and terminate into the air gap. Allow space for condensate drains from the panels, on the air gap opening. Include the drain water cooling provision as shown on drawing. m. Fabricate and install supply water piping. Then connect water source to the humidifiers. Test and ensure leak-free installation. n. Install new scaltrol inline domestic hot water filter upstream of humidifier branch lines. Ensure leak tight installation. o. Fabricate and install, then securely support steam supply and condensate drain piping. -- 5 of 212 -- August 2024 MINNEAPOLIS ARTCC (ZMP) VARIOUS AHU HUMIDIFIER REPLACEMENT PROJECT GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 01 10 00 - 2 p. Connect steam hoses at each humidifier to the respective steam piping. Insulate piping. q. Re-route and support required electrical conduits if necessary. Re-terminate all electrical power and control connections. r. Start and functionally test unit according to manufacturer’s recommendation. s. Return Humidifiers into service. Coordinate work with facility through the FAA COR. Follow facility procedure for returning Humidifiers into service. B. Existing Facility Operations: The ARTCC is a 24-hour, 7-day-per-week operating facility occupied by Air Traffic and Airway Facilities personnel.
