Question: The PWS states that foundations and below-grade structures are to be removed and excavations restored; however, no specific backfill specification was identified. Please confirm: • Required backfill material type (common fill, structural fill, borrow fill, select fill, crushed aggregate, etc.). • Whether imported material is required or if suitable on-site material may be reused. • Compaction requirements • Testing requirements and responsibility for geotechnical verification Response: Structural fill; onsite material may be reused as long as compaction requirements are met; compaction requirements are 2,500 lbs. per sq. ft. of barring capacity; provide customer verification of testing 2. Question: The PWS references grading and stabilization but does not provide detailed specifications. Please confirm: • Required final stabilization method: o Seed and straw o Hydroseed o Temporary seed o Permanent turf establishment o Erosion control matting o Other • Required seed mix specifications. • Topsoil requirements, if any. • Required stabilization timeframe following demolition activities. Response: Leave area bare, no stabilization preference. 3. Question: Please confirm that all existing building with concrete slabs and paved surfaces are to remain in place unless specifically noted otherwise. Response: Correct, please refer to site map attachment. 4. Question: The solicitation documents do not appear to include an asbestos survey, hazardous materials assessment, or abatement report. Please provide: • Existing asbestos survey reports. • Hazardous materials assessment reports. • Lead-based paint survey reports (if applicable). • Confirmation that all hazardous material identification and abatement has been completed prior to contractor mobilization. If no reports are available, please confirm that no asbestos-containing materials (ACM), lead-containing materials, PCB-containing equipment, or other regulated hazardous materials are present within the contractor’s scope of work. Response: No reports available and no awareness of any asbestos, lead or PCB containing material within the contractor’s scope of work. 5. Response: No fuel tanks or lines being removed. 6. Question: Please confirm that all utilities serving the structures have been disconnected and rendered safe prior to demolition, including: • Electric • Water • Sewer • Telecommunications • Gas/Fuel • Fire protection systems Please identify any active services that must remain operational during construction. Response: There are no utility services to the compound. 7. Question: Please verify that of the 23 Structures and 6 wall sections all consist of wood excluding foundation and footings. Specifically, there are 6 large "Concrete" Structures in the rear that are not included in the Solicitation, nor any other loose item other than the 23 and 6 Wood structures. Response: The concrete structures remain, please refer to site map attachment. 8. Question: Please verify there are no underground utilities required demolition attached to foundations designated Demo structures? Response: No underground utilities. 9. Question: PWS number 7. States No debris is left on site which could impede grading, verify debris is referencing only debris of the 23 and 6 structures not debris for the entire site? Response: Debris refers to the 23 and 6 structures. 10. Question: Material left inside structures such as dummy ammo must be turned in through proper DOD procedures verify Customer will clear any simulated ammo on site prior to work beginning? Response: Buildings will be cleared by EOD prior to demolition. 11. Question: PWS Number 8. States COMPREHENSIVE grading of the ENTIRE site (a.) Please verify Entire site i.e. Fence to fence or only demo area of structures? (b.) Please verify Comprehensive grading without set of engineered plans with established elevations and bench. Simply rough grading to allow for good drainage of rain fall is not comprehensive. Please verify if the Customer will provide their desired elevations and gradients to meet the task stated? Is very vague in that preparing of sub grade prior to a future "Phase two" without knowing if there will be required material needed such as fill; specifically, without known elevations or known SPECIFICATION. Will the Customer provide the required specification? Response: Grading needs to be level to current grade and compaction requirements at 2,500 lbs. per sq. ft. of barring capacity. 13. Question: In the original solicitation packet Period of Performance on page 6 states over 90 days, please verify Contract is for 60 days?
