Jurisdiction: 1. United States Department of the Interior (DOI). 2. National Park Service (NPS). 3. Historic Preservation Training Center (HPTC). D. The project site is located within a nationally significant historic property and shall be treated accordingly throughout construction operations. Historic resources shall be protected from damage. 1.4 CONTRACT DESCRIPTION A. Work shall be performed under a single prime construction contract. B. The Contractor shall coordinate all activities required to complete the Work and maintain continuous progress throughout the Contract period. 1.5 OWNER OCCUPANCY A. Independence National Historical Park will remain operational during construction. B. Public access to portions of the site may continue during construction activities. C. Contractor shall: 1. Conduct operations to minimize interference with park operations. 2. Maintain safe pedestrian circulation at all times. 3. Coordinate temporary closures with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR). 4. Provide barriers, signage, and protective measures necessary to protect visitors and staff. 1.6 CONTRACTOR USE OF PREMISES A. Limit use of premises to areas indicated and approved by the COR. B. Confine construction operations to areas necessary for performance of the Work. C. Do not unreasonably encumber the site with materials or equipment. D. Storage locations, staging areas, and construction access routes shall be subject to approval by the COR. E. Protect existing facilities, utilities, landscape features, paving, monuments, furnishings, and historic resources. F. Any damage caused by Contractor operations shall be repaired or replaced at no additional cost to the Government. 1.7 HISTORIC RESOURCE PROTECTION A. The project is located within a historic park environment and requires special protection measures. B. Existing historic materials, features, finishes, and site elements identified to remain shall be protected throughout the duration of the Work. C.
