Landscaping at NOAA Weather Forecase Office in White Lake (Detroit), MI (DTX)

NWS Detroit/White Lake MI Statement of Work Lawn Service and other grounds keeping Requirements Location: National Weather Service 9200 White Lake Rd White Lake, MI 48386 Scope: The contractor shall provide all personnel, tools, equipment, materials and supervision for the duties required to care for all of the grounds within the boundaries of the Weather Forecast Office as described in this statement of work. Description of Work: The Contractor shall; Weekly Late April- Mid October (25 weeks): 1. Mow all grassy areas on the property as prescribed (attached map; est. ~80,000 sq. ft. appx 1.8 acres) including inside the AROS fencing. 2. Trim with a string trimmer around the buildings, driveway, sidewalks, equipment and other stationary objects. 3. Use a broom or a blower to remove clippings from the parking areas and sidewalks. 4. Eliminate weeds and grasses growing in stone landscaping around the main building and along the sidewalks using appropriate weed killer Additional Requirements: The Contractor shall: 1. Prune and trim all trees and shrubbery in front of the main Forecast Office at appropriate times in late June and late August – and including around the end of driveway to maintain traffic site lines. 2. Seed lawn in between front of building and parking lot in the Spring (18’x78’). 3. Fertilize lawn, trees, and shrubs, and treat for weeds, crabgrass and insects. These applications shall follow a schedule of: a) Spring - Pre-emergent, fertilizer, and broadleaf weed and crabgrass control. b) Early June - Slow release fertilizer and broadleaf weed and crabgrass control. c) Fall - Broadleaf weed control and micronutrients. Additional work not covered in specifications, may be required upon request. No additional work shall be performed without advance approval by the Contracting Officer and a modification to the contract. Inspections and Acceptance: The Meteorologist in Charge or their designee has designated authority to make a full inspection to see that the contract is completed per the statement of work. The contractor will be notified immediately if any items are sub-standard. The Contractor shall bill on a monthly basis in arrears for the service provided. 2. The contractor, if remotely located, shall designate a representative local to the contract location, with contact numbers, for the government's local representative to communicate with about the quality or work, progress, and technical details of the project. -- 1 of 2 -- 3. The government reserves the right to waive lawn care or request lawn care to ensure the grounds keep a well-maintained appearance. 4. The Contractor shall ensure that all debris is cleaned up before they leave. 5. The Contractor shall ensure that no hoses/ tools are left out or placed in such a way that they become a trip hazard or impede normal access to the buildings and property.. 6. The Contractor shall follow all Federal, State, and local regulations. 7. The Contractor is responsible for the clean-up and remediation of any chemical/compound spills they made. 8. Upon arrival, the Contractor and/or employee shall sign-in on the security log sheet when entering the property and before beginning work. -END OF SOW- -- 2 of 2 --
