SCOPE OF WORK
GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS
SCOPE OF WORK: The Contractor shall provide all labor, tools, equipment, fuel, supervision,
transportation, materials, and supplies necessary to perform mowing and lawn maintenance services on the
c. 5 acre site. Work will consist of mowing and trimming of grass and weeds along with trimming of shrubs.
LOCATION: Cassville Ranger District Administrative Site, 601A ST. HWY 248, Cassville, Missouri. A
Vicinity Map is attached.
WORK PROGRESS: Mowing and trimming will be performed as needed to keep grounds looking neat,
preferably outside of normal business hours (8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, M-F). It is anticipated that lawn
maintenance services will be required weekly during the spring and early summer provided adequate
rainfall is received. Normally mowing is required less often during the months of July and August. The
government reserves the right to request service if the grass needs to be mowed and restrict mowing when
the grass is extremely dry. Up to 22 visits per mowing season will be authorized; the COR should be
notified in writing following each visit.
DAMAGE TO PROPERTY: The Contractor shall be responsible for any damage caused by his/her
personnel or equipment to any existing structures, vehicles, etc., private or public. Damaged items shall be
repaired or replaced by the Contractor at no additional cost to the Government.
SAFETY OF CONTRACTOR PERSONNEL: The contractor shall comply with all safety rules and
regulations of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration for this type of work.
POLLUTION AND EROSION CONTROL: During all operations, the Contractor shall take appropriate
measures to prevent soil erosion and pollution of water and other resources. All refuse, including garbage,
rubbish, and solid or liquid wastes from the contractor's operations, shall be removed from Government
property.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
MOWING AND TRIMMING REOUIEMENTS: Mowing shall consist of cutting vegetation to a height
of not more than (2 1/2") two-and one-half inches from the ground, ensuring that no strips of uncut vegetation
remain. Designated pollinator gardens shall not be mowed. The contractor shall mulch all fallen leaves around
buildings, fences, or other obstacles during mowing operations.
Mowing equipment must be of the type and operated in a manner that will prevent tractor wheels or mower
from tearing out turf on turns. Mowing will not be permitted when the ground is so wet as to cause wheel
rutting.

Trimming shall consist of cutting vegetation to a height to match surrounding mowed areas around buildings,
trees, sidewalks, shrubs, benches, tables, equipment, fences, and any other natural or man-made objects that
protrudes above the ground line. This trimming shall be cut to a height as to prevent passage of larger mowing
equipment over them without damage to the equipment or object. All cement or paved walkways shall be
trimmed back to the edges of such walkway. Trimming shall not occur around trailer skirting or window well

All trimming will take place at the time of mowing. Mowing work is not complete until all trimming is
complete.
Work shall be accomplished in a manner that will preserve and encourage the growth of grass and chopping
vegetation at or below ground level will not be permitted.
Contractor shall mow ditch lines through the bottom of ditch.
Contractor shall remove the cut grass from all walkways. Fallen limbs and loose rock that impede
mowing operations shall be removed prior to mowing operations. Areas to be mowed will be kept free of
trash and /or litter.
Ground maintenance shall include removing all trash, litter, reasonable amounts of natural occurrence of
fallen limbs, rocks etc., from government property.
CONTRACTOR'S EQUIPMENT: All equipment proposed for use in performance of the work shall be
of the size, type, and in such condition to properly pursue the requirements of the contract.
All mowers and trimmers will be equipped with spark arrestors and all safety guards to prevent flying
debris from striking persons or damaging property.
Equipment used for trimming shall be adequate to provide close trimming.
If, at any time, during this contract any equipment is deemed to be unsatisfactory by the Contracting
Officer, it will be replaced at the Contractor's expense.
MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT
PAYMENT: Contractor shall be paid not more often than monthly at the unit prices quoted for services
performed and accepted by the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative.
Work not meeting minimum specifications of this contract either will be reworked at the Contractor's
expense or will be accepted by the Government with a price reduction.
The Contractor shall follow the invoicing instructions included on their contract when submitting invoices
for services performance.
