MULTIPLE BUILDING LIFE SAFETY – FIRE ALARMS 010150 – 1 TRAPPER CREEK JOB CORPS CCC GENERAL REQUIREMENTS SECTION 010150 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS PART 1 – SUMMARY OF WORK 1.1 DESCRIPTION A. Work for this project requires the contractor to be responsible for supplying all labor, materials, equipment, utilities, miscellaneous items, freight and delivery and all necessary valid licenses for the work summarized as follows: 1. Replace fire alarm systems including fire alarm control panels and initiation and notification devices in several buildings. Install additional initiation and notification devices on some existing systems. Correction of inadequately protected fire alarm wiring for one system, and troubleshooting and correction of trouble code on another existing system. 1.2 LOCATION A. This project is located at the Trapper Creek Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center located ten miles from Darby, Montana in Ravalli County. The address is 5139 West Fork Rd, Darby, MT 59829. Driving instructions can be obtained from the Center by calling 406-821-3286. 1.3 WORK HOURS A. Work hours for this project are between 8:00 AM-4:30 PM Monday through Friday. 1.4 USE OF PREMISES A. Confine constructions operations to immediate area of work. Do not disturb portions of Project site beyond areas in which the Work is indicated. B. Government will occupy site and buildings during entire construction period. Cooperate with Government during construction operations to minimize conflicts and facilitate Government usage. Perform the work so as not to interfere with Government's day-to- day operations. C. Keep driveways, parking areas, loading areas and entrances to buildings clear and available to Government, Government's employees, and emergency vehicles at all times. Do not use these areas for parking or storage of materials. Do not close or obstruct walkways, corridors, or other occupied or used facilities without written permission from Government. 1.5 DEFINITIONS -- 1 of 31 -- MULTIPLE BUILDING LIFE SAFETY – FIRE ALARMS 010150 – 2 TRAPPER CREEK JOB CORPS CCC GENERAL REQUIREMENTS A. The following terms in any combination relating to the installation of products/materials: install, furnish, provide, or similar statements; mean that the contractor is responsible for the procurement and installation of the products unless it is specifically designated as either a government furnished item, supply only product, or spare. 1.6 INCIDENTAL CONSTRUCTION A. Performance of the specific tasks indicated in the plans and specifications may require incidental construction including that is not specifically included in drawings and specification but not limited to: provision of temporary shoring or supports, installation and subsequent removal of temporary access points, removal and reinstallation or relocation of items not designated for replacement as required for work or equipment clearance or as a precautionary protective measure. Disconnection of supporting or interconnection equipment between different systems and reconnection to new equipment as applicable to specific project requirements; examples include but are not limited to: fire alarm components and interconnection/control for HVAC air handling equipment, cleaning chemical equipment for dishwashers, electric bonding for conductive water piping replacement, etc. In all cases the contractor shall be responsible for removal of temporary works, reinstallation of temporarily relocated items, or reconstruction of items selectively demolished for incidental construction purposes in a neat workman like manner, that matches existing finishes, quality standards, and code requirements unless the Contracting Officer specifically authorizes incidental construction to be incorporated into the finished work or items removed for coordination purposes to not be re-installed or reconstructed. The Contractor shall provide turn-key fully operational and finished installations unless the drawings and specifications specifically indicate otherwise. 1.7 FIELD VERIFICATION AND COORDINATION OF WORK A. Drawings are schematic or typical in nature or intended to identify location of work. The Contractor shall be responsible for field verification of existing conditions and coordination of new work with those existing conditions. Examples below are intended to demonstrate the intent of this statement but are not inclusive of all field verification and coordination. Notify COR when specified requirements conflict with field verification. 1. General Field Verification: Verify existing construction finishes, locations of structural members that may obstruct work, and actual dimensions/distances for required work. 2. Electrical Field Verification: Inspect and test building voltage prior to ordering electrically operated equipment. 3. HVAC Field Verification: Verify space constraints of locations indicated for new equipment and equipment replacement and verify that submitted products will fit within space constraints with any code or manufacturer clearance requirements. 4. Installation Coordination: Install equipment and other components in accordance with referenced codes, standards, and manufacturer installation instructions.
