Fabrication and Installation of Salad and Beverage Bars
1.0 Scope of Work
The contractor shall provide miscellaneous furniture, materials, fabrication of custom equipment,
purchase of commercially manufactured equipment, supervision, delivery, and set-in-place installation of
all numbered items. All work shall be executed in strict accordance with these specifications, applicable
drawings, and local codes, including that which is reasonably inferred, unless noted otherwise.
2.0 Equipment Deliverables
The contractor shall provide the following core structural units and commercially manufactured buyout
equipment:

3.0 Construction and Material Specifications
3.1 Base Construction and Casework
• Material: All Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) construction, 3mm thick. (Note: A sample is
required with the proposal).
• Base Structure: Separate bases bolted together and leveled on site. Steel bases must be
constructed of square tubing.
• Panels and Trim:
• Pre-painted black ACM Toe Kicks (Extra-low toe kicks shipped loose to conceal casters).
• Laminated ACM Panels (One uniform color for customer-visible sides only; all non-
visible sides shall be black).
• 1” Boston Bumper (Standard colors only).
• Access and Mobility:
• Adjustable leveling legs with casters.
• Heavy-duty paddle latch ACM doors located on both long sides for access, utilizing
concealed hinges.
3.2 Countertops and Hardware
• Countertops: Multiple oversized Corian countertops with a visible seam at cabinet break points
and built-in stainless steel rub strips.
• Hardware: Countertop Grommets (x8).
• Clearance Warning: Openings and pathways must be verified by the contractor to accommodate
at least a 43-inch clearance for installation.
3.3 Sneeze Guards and Lighting
• Soup Stations: Six (6) double-sided buffet-style sneeze guards above the soup units with top
shelves. Constructed of 1 ½” tubular extruded aluminum (powder coated, color TBD) and ¼”
thick glass secured in a tight-fitting channel.
• Cold Rails: Two (2) double-sided, double-tier buffet-style sneeze guards above the cold rails with
top shelves. Constructed of 1 ½” tubular extruded aluminum (powder coated, color TBD) and ¼”
thick glass secured in a tight-fitting channel.
• Lighting: Fluorescent lighting installed within sneeze guards, including black boots on toggles.
4.0 Contractor Responsibilities and Installation
• Contractor is responsible for verifying all dimensions prior to bidding and installation.

• The contractor will provide personnel who are certified to perform required tasks.
• Contractor will be permitted to work inside of the Dining Facility during the following hours:
Monday through Friday - 0730-1700 except during meal hours and holidays. Meal hours are:
Breakfast: 0600-0730; Lunch: 1100-1230; Dinner 1600-1730. Night or weekend shift may be
coordinated with Food Service Officer with no additional cost in pricing. Night shift is preferred
if project involves loud noise and heavy dust to not interfere with patrons during meal hours and
must be coordinated with the FSO. Exact days of work will be coordinated before
commencement to ensure space availability. Coordinate with LCPO /FSO before commencing
work to ensure serving line or each section is secured for work while utilizing different serving
lines to serve the patrons. Immediate work area will be properly secured by the contractor and
will not conflict with meals being served or dining area being utilized.
• Contractor will provide plastic barriers to contain dust or paint.
• Contractor is responsible for daily clean up and disposal of all generated debris/materials to
proper disposal or recycle containers at the back dock.
• Contractor is responsible to obtain necessary security pass for base access.
4.1 Engineering and Site Preparation
• Drawings: The contractor shall provide CAD drawings and Symantec drawings detailing
electrical outlet locations. Shop drawings for custom equipment will be provided after the award
of the contract
• Site Modifications: The contractor will not perform any site modifications required to
accommodate the new salad bars.
• Site Verification: The drawings and specifications provided are for assistance and guidance.
Extreme accuracy of existing drawings is not guaranteed; the contractor must verify that existing
building conditions, exact dimensions, locations, and levels will accommodate the custom
fabricated items.
4.2 Assembly and Installation
• Assembly: The contractor will assemble all units that require assembly to maintain the
manufacturer's warranty.
• Placement: The contractor shall move the units into place and assemble them strictly per the
manufacturer's installation instructions.
5.0 Delivery and Schedule
• Manufacturing: Manufacturing of the buffet lines will commence upon contract award. The
estimated work completion date will be established upon award.

• Installation Date: Delivery and installation dates are to be determined (TBD) based on the
completion of the galley renovation. Will be coordinated with the Installation Food Service
Officer
6.0 Manufacturing Standards and Compliance
• Custom Equipment: Custom equipment shall be fabricated in accordance with standard
manufacturing methods, strictly adhering to NSF requirements and the BABA Act (Build
America, Buy America).
