Statement of Work 142082-26-0415 SFSC Temperature Calibration Bath Replacement The National Weather Service Sterling Field Support Center (SFSC) Temperature and Humidity laboratory provides internal calibration for 50-60 platinum resistance thermometers and accuracy comparison services for NWS programs testing new temperature sensors and equipment. In order to provide accurate calibrations, the use of an extremely stable and accurate temperature source is required. Staff utilize two stable temperature calibration bath sources, one for low temperature ranges and another for high temperature ranges. Currently one of our temperature calibration baths required for temperature accuracy testing and sensor calibrations is no longer working correctly. The unit can no longer cool properly and based on in house assessments the unit will likely stop functioning completely. The lack of system cooling also causes a major safety risk along with the inability for the temperature bath to function in a correct manner. The unit must be replaced with a new stable temperature source to continue to provide accurate calibration and temperature accuracy testing for NWS programs and sensors. Performance Criteria The equipment requirements listed below must all be met for the final acceptance of the system.  Internal Bath Dimensions (Minimum): 6in x 6in x 8in  Internal Bath Dimensions (Maximum): 9in x 14.5in x 16in  Immersion Depths: 8in to 16in  Access Opening (Minimum): 6in x 6in  Access Opening (Maximum): 14in x 8.5in  Volume: 1 to 11 gallons  Bath Fluid Type: Must operate with Xiameter PMX-200 Silicone Fluid 1cSt at temperatures between -80°C to 10°C and Distilled Water at temperatures between 5°C to 60°C  Low Temperature Range: Less than or equal to -80°C  High Temperature Range: Greater than or equal to 60°C  Power Source: 115 or 230 VAC  Environmental Operating Range: o Relative Humidity: 80% at 31°C to 50% at 40°C o Temperature : 5 to 50°C  Full Range Stability: Less than or equal to 0.02°C  Full Range Uniformity: Less than or equal to 0.02°C  Combined Stability and Uniformity: Less than or equal to 0.025°C  Heating Rate: Greater than or equal to 0.625°C / minute -- 1 of 2 --  Cooling Rate: Greater than or equal to 0.4375°C / minute  Display Resolution: Less than or equal to 0.01°C  Set-Point Accuracy: Less than or equal to 0.5°C  Set-Point Repeatability: Less than or equal to 0.01°C  Serial communications: o Must possess the ability to receive commands sent from a third-party terminal program such as Hyper Terminal or PuTTy. These commands must have the ability to control the operation of the temperature bath specifically the ability to set and maintain a temperature setpoint. Must also have the ability to send commands that can be received by a third-party terminal program such as Hyper Terminal or PuTTy.  Overall Equipment Dimensions: All equipment must fit within 31in W x 31in L x 60in H area  Maintenance: Maintenance costs minimized  Shipping: Shipping Cost included Inspection and Acceptance Upon completion, contractor shall notify the Government representative for approval and acceptance. The acceptance period will include a full successful demonstration in accordance with vendor supplied accepted test plan with the federal representative signature. Delivery of acceptance test results from the test plan must be submitted with invoice for processing and approval of payment.
