What this opportunity is

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration is buying photomultiplier detectors, specifically Microchannel Plate and Metal Package types, under a sole source requirement. This procurement is suitable for a business that can provide Hamamatsu parts or equivalent, as specified. As a Special Notice, this is not a solicitation for bids, so interested parties should track the opportunity for potential future developments.

Description

Delivery Estimate: 7 December 2026 Shipping Location: 21 Langley Blvd B1250 R155, Hampton VA 23681 ITEM 1: Microchannel Plate Photomultiplier Detectors Hamamatsu Part Number (or equivalent): R5916-64 Microchannel Plate Photomultiplier Tube (Quantity 4) Detectors for an existing lidar system are required for the addition of new measurements detected at 470nm to detector fast transient signals from the atmosphere and the ocean. The detector requires the parameters below and will be integrated into existing post detector electronics and data system control. A key requirement is these the ability to have fast gating control. The dimensions are also required for integration into existing mechanical and optical configurations that be leveraged from the current implementation at other wavelengths. These detectors will be provided as a modified configuration as a bare unit that is not packaged with the bare wires pigtailed from the detector module.
