Salient Characteristics Emergency Breathing System
1.0 Complete System Assembly
• Operating Depth: The complete assembly must be certified and fully functional down to a
minimum depth of 6 meters (20 feet).

1.3. Flexible Hose

• Available Lengths: To accommodate various aircrew configurations and vest sizes, the contractor
must offer the system with two distinct hose lengths:
o 20 inches (508 mm)
o 27 inches (686 mm)
1.4. Second-Stage Regulator
• Profile: Low-profile design to minimize bulk and snag hazards on the survival vest.
• Swivel: Must feature a swivel attachment to the hose to ensure freedom of head movement.
• Purge Protection Cover:
o Design Requirement: The regulator must be configured with a rigid, injection-molded
hard "Purge Protection Cover."

it cannot be depressed or activated during storage, handling, or routine flight operations.
