1 US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Statement of Work -- 1 of 4 -- 2 Project Camper for Truck General Information 1.0 Scope of Work Purchase of 1 camper that can fit in the truck bed of a Ford F250 2.0 Background Provide a truck camper that fits an 8’ Ford F250 pickup truck bed – these are also called “slide-in campers”, because they slide into the truck bed, or “cab-over campers” because they have a sleeping area extending over the truck’s roof. Examples of the truck campers are shown in the two pictures below (note: we already have the truck; we just need the camper that fits in it). Contractor Requirements 3.0 Technical Requirements / Tasks Details about the truck camper: • Design: these are self-contained, removable units that do not technically require a trailer hitch, allowing you to tow boats or trailers simultaneously. • Type: It should come as “hard-sided (full amenities)” rather than any kind of pop-up versions that have elevating roof or push out walls. • Versatility: These are made to fit into the bed of most pickup trucks, and ours MUST fit into an 8’ Ford F250 pickup truck bed. • Dimensions: The dimensions of our Ford F250 pickup truck bed are roughly 8 feet in length, and 5.25 feet wide. However, the exact dimensions are as follows (and a visual [picture] is added below with the measurements). Note that the bed length and width measurements are the inside opening, and don’t include the width of the bed frame. -bed length is 98 inches -bed width is 63.5 inches, but 60 inches at tailgate opening and 50.5 inches between wheel wells -height of bed sidewalls is 21.4 inches, and 12 inches at the wheel well -height from top of bed to highest point of cab is 26.5 inches (it’s 25inches to the roof of the truck, but it has these plastic pieces on top that add another inch and a half.) -- 2 of 4 -- 3 • Removable and Automatic retractable legs: The truck camper should be removable so that it can be stored in our parking lot when not needed, or otherwise when the bed of the pickup truck is needed to transport other items. It should have automatic retractable legs so by the push of buttons the leg-jacks will extend to the ground and allow the operator to drive out from under the truck camper. • Climate control: The truck camper must have built-in heating and air-conditioning that was part of its original build (i.e., came this way from the manufacturing factory). The heating and air conditioning can be run off electric or propane gas, or the combination, but they must be fully functional at the time of delivery. It is best if they are hooked to a thermostat so we would be able to set the temperature and have it automatically maintained within the airspace of the truck camper. • Maintenance: The Contractor shall provide maintenance demonstration, instructions, and written manuals. • Warranty: The camper should be under warranty by the manufacturers listed dates and labor warranted for a period of 1 year at no cost to the Government. • Documentation: The Contractor shall provide 1 hard copy plus one electronic (pdf) version of the operation, maintenance, storage, and cleaning manuals prior to the delivery of the camper. • Training: Contractor shall provide on-site in-depth training during delivery of the camper. • Delivery: The Contractor shall deliver all the materials mentioned herein as soon as possible or within 30 days. 5.0 Deliverables / Schedule • Deliver to the following address: USDA’s National Wildlife Research Center (NWRC) 4101 LaPorte Avenue Fort Collins, CO. 80521 -- 3 of 4 -- 4 • On-site Contact for delivery: Larry Maybon, (USDA/NWRC Facilities Manager), cell: (970) 217-3365 • Delivery should occur during working hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-3:30pm 8.0 Security Requirements Delivery at the first parking lot inside the security post. 9.0 Invoicing All invoices will be submitted in accordance with FAR RFO 52.212-4(g).
