What this opportunity is

The Department of Homeland Security is seeking to extend an existing task order for Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support related to Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) for its Screening at Speed program. This modification is intended to provide ongoing technical and management support while the agency prepares for a recompete of the contract. The opportunity is relevant for small businesses with capabilities in AI/ML and systems engineering, but it is a modification rather than a new bid, so interested parties should track the recompete process rather than submit proposals at this stage.

Description

This requirement is a modification to an existing Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate (DHS S&T) task order for S&T Screening at Speed Program Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support for Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) efforts. The Screening at Speed program requires technical and management support services around AI/ML efforts under Screening at Speed and partner programs including subject matter expertise, project and algorithm evaluation, and certification readiness support. The program is currently planning a recompete of its support needs and extension of the current support will prevent a gap in service while the requirement is finalized and acquisition planning, solicitation, and award of the recompete is completed. This modification procures additional work within scope and extend the period of performance of task order 70RSAT23FR0000088 without considering other awardees pursuant to RFO FAR 6.103-1 (FAR Class Deviation 25-11).
