Description

Statement of Work Solarcore, LLC CEO: Michael Markesbery (Michael@solarcore.tech) Procurement of Solarcore Polyimide Aerogel Embedded Fabric NASA is developing advanced cryogenic storage systems to enable long-duration storage and transportation of liquid hydrogen (LH₂), liquid oxygen (LOX), liquid methane (LCH₄), and other cryogenic propellants for future aeronautics and space exploration missions. Current insulation technologies, including multilayer insulation (MLI) and conventional aerogel blankets, have limitations related to durability, mechanical robustness, integration with complex tank geometries, and performance under repeated thermal cycling. Polyimide aerogel embedded fabric provides a lightweight, flexible, mechanically robust insulation solution capable of maintaining exceptionally low thermal conductivity while conforming to curved composite cryogenic tank surfaces. The material procurement is intended for use as part of a multi-layer insulation for cryogenic tanks under representative aerospace operating conditions. The objective is to acquire a manufactured polyimide aerogel embedded fabric for fabrication of prototype cryogenic insulation systems and demonstration of advanced tank wrapping concepts. The vendor shall provide flexible polyimide aerogel embedded fabric meeting the following general requirements: • Polyimide aerogel integrated into a continuous fiber fabric architecture • Flexible blanket suitable for wrapping curved cylindrical and spherical tanks • Low density (<0.20 g/cm³ preferred) • High porosity (>90%) • Low thermal conductivity suitable for cryogenic environments • Capable of operation from cryogenic temperatures through elevated aerospace temperatures Delivery timeline: 45 days Delivery address: Attn: Stephanie Vivod 21000 Brookpark rd Bld 105, Rm 208 Cleveland, OH 44135 -- 1 of 1 --
