1 Statement of Work (SOW) Straight Line Rip Saws one (1) each. Background: a. Requiring Organization Defense Distribution Depot San Diego, CA (DDDC) b. History Saw is required to replace outdated machine that is maintenance intensive and lacks necessary safety equipment required to meet OSHA standards. c. Purpose of the Statement of Work (SOW): Purchase new Straight Line Rip Saws one (1) ea. 1. Scope of Work to be Performed by Contractor: The contractor shall provide all necessary labor and material to construct, deliver and place into operation one (1) new straight line rip saw. The SITE will be responsible for ensuring that all necessary ELECTRICAL DROP / DISCONNECT connection points are in place prior to delivery. The SITE will be responsible for making the final electrical connection from the saw to the disconnect . All equipment furnished shall be new from the manufacturer’s most current production. The saws shall be in compliance with all OSHA, federal, state, and local codes and regulations and shall conform to the best quality of materials and workmanship. Accessories not specifically mentioned herein, but necessary to furnish complete systems ready for use, shall also be included and named. All transportation/shipping of the purchased saw shall be provided by the contractor. The contractor shall coordinate a Site Visit with the receiving location in order to ensure all necessary electrical and ventilation connections are in place prior to scheduling the installation of the Rip Saw. The machine must be the below listed straight line rip saw: 1ea Manufacturer Diehl model SL65-56 (or equivalent) for cutting wood Salient Characteristics: • 480 volt, 3 phase, 60 cycle electrical operation • Line Reactor (isolation transformer) and hour meter • 20 HP belt driven spindle with automatic "dead man" style brake • 3 HP feed drive motor w/AC inverter for 70 - 200 FPM variable feed speed • 56" of throat capacity -- 1 of 3 -- 2 • 30" of table support to the left of the blade • Work table surfaces are sand blasted and clear coated • Lower anti-kickback fingers mounted in the work table at the infeed 4-1/4" thickness capacity • Multi-V chain, chain race, and drive cam • Precision spindle, spindle housing, bearings, and saw collars • Electro-pneumatic feed chain lubrication system • NEMA Type 12, Operator control panel and fascia • Heavy duty pressure beam, pressure rolls/brackets, and springs • Infeed safety features w/cam controlled claw type upper anti-kickback fingers, lower infeed anti-kickback fingers, LH & RH side pressure beam and outfeed guards • One, (1), 18" diameter, 30 tooth, carbide tipped saw blade • Hour usage meter Exterior color – Manufacturer’s standard. Warranty Coverage - Warranty coverage shall be manufacturer’s standard warranty but not less than one year parts and labor. Operator, Parts and Service Manual(s) and Training – The contractor shall provide with delivery, one (1) complete set of manuals with each machine. 2. Definitions of Terms and Abbreviations: a. Description of Contractor’s Tasks: Task 1: Fabricate and Deliver one (1) each straight line rip saws. Task 2: Install one (1) Rip Saw in the location identified in section 1. Saw to be connected to existing electrical connections by site electricians, no requirement for additional electrical work is required. Saws to be -- 2 of 3 -- 3 connected to existing ventilation system, no additional ventilation system modification is required. Task 3: Provide one (1) 8 hour period of training instruction on the safe operation of the installed Rip Saw. Training to be conducted at one location to be identified by personnel at the receiving location on the day of delivery and installation. 4. Certification and Acceptance: Final acceptance of the straight line rip saw will be performed by personnel at the receiving location. 5. Project Management Approach: 6.
