1 SCOPE:
1.1 TITLE: Kulicke & Soffa (KnS) Wire Bonder Training & PMs
1.2 APPLICABILITY: This statement of work applies to the advance training needed for wire bonding and
Preventive Maintenance (PM) needed for the RAPID Pro Ball Bonder. The Wire Bonder is the only way to
create connectivity between the die and package at DMEA.
1.3 BACKGROUND: The RAPID Pro Ball Bonder needs follow-on advance training with new package types
like plastics that have a small footprint. Training in profile development and replacing P-Parts/boats is
needed to improve and maintain DMEA’s capability to successfully bond a variety of packages. Also, the
RAPID Pro Ball Bonder needs PMs to be completed.
1.4 PURPOSE: Advance Training is needed to complete a variety of Microcircuit Assembly (MCA) projects
within DMEA. The Wire Bonding capability is the only route to complete the assembly of packages and KnS
Training is critical to DMEA’s success in MCA. The PMs are needed to keep equipment 100% operational
for the next few years.

3 REQUIREMENTS: Complete Advance Training onsite at KnS
3.1 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
3.1.1 TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: The contractor shall provide Training that fulfills the requirements and
conforms to the specifications listed below:
3.1.1.1 Contractor shall provide 5 day training for 2x operators at KnS for Advance Training.
3.1.1.2 Contractor shall provide training on plastic package profile bonding parameters.
3.1.1.3 Contractor shall provide training on ceramic package profile bonding parameters.
3.1.1.4 Contractor shall provide training on large too small footprints for package profile bonding parameters.
3.1.1.5 Contractor shall provide training with EFO Wand and P-Part installation.
3.1.1.6 Contractor shall provide training correct programming steps to avoid any damage that can occur with
the EFO Wand, P-Parts, Boats, and Stage.
3.1.2 PM REQUIREMENTS: The contractor shall provide annual preventative maintenance
3.1.2.1 The contractor shall provide annual preventative maintenance and periodic calibrations, where
required beyond the warranties, for the RAPID Pro Ball Bonder for 2026.
3.1.2.2 The contractor shall replace all high wear items to ensure machine is back to fully operational
condition meeting original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications.
3.1.2.3 The contractor shall provide software upgrades for the RAPID PRO Ball Bonder.

3.2 OPTIONS:
3.2.1 OPTION REQUIREMENTS:
3.2.1.1 OPTION 1: Contractor shall provide annual preventative maintenance for year 2027.
3.2.1.2 OPTION 2: Contractor shall provide annual preventative maintenance for year 2028.
3.2.1.3 OPTION 3: Contractor shall provide annual preventative maintenance for year 2029.
3.3 SECURITY:
3.3.1.1 The contractor shall provide advance notification prior to conducting any onsite training, inspection,
installation, maintenance, or calibration. A forty-eight (48) hour minimum notice during normal
business hours shall be given. All contractor work at DMEA shall be performed by US citizens unless
an exception is granted, in writing, by DMEA. Prior to being allowed entry, contractor personnel shall
provide proof of citizenship in accordance with the DMEA visitor approval process in effect at the
time the visit is requested. During periods of exceptionally heightened security, additional advance
notice background investigations of contractor may be required prior to gaining entry into DMEA.
The contractor shall comply with all DMEA security policies, and shall adhere to all security related
instructions given by DMEA.
