Work Restrictions 8. Special Construction Requirements 9. Soils Investigation Report 10. Additional Reports 1.2 WORK COVERED BY CONTRACT DOCUMENTS A. Project Location: West Virginia B. The Work consists of: 1. The pavement preservation work includes tree trimming, seal coating, chip seal, shoulder grading, crack sealing, partial and full depth asphalt pavement patching, pavement markings, traffic management and any temporary works needed for work. C. Project will be constructed under a single prime contract. 1.3 WORK PHASES A. The work shall be coordinated with the Contracting Officer (CO). The work can be performed in phases or done concurrently for the pavement preservation locations. Provide the CO the plan for the work with detail for what work will be completed in each phase or if concurrent the work that will be performed and what work will be completed before beginning next work element. 1.4 WORK UNDER OTHER CONTRACTS -- 3 of 146 -- HAFE 242454 01 10 00 - 2 041426 SUMMARY OF WORK a. Coincident with this contract may be other contracts within the same working vicinity. Coordinate construction operations to minimize impacts. Coordinate with CO for other contracts information. The table below with potential projects is provided for informational purposes and may not include all projects. It is the contractor’s responsibility to coordinate work to reduce/eliminate conflicts. Need HAFE’s input on other projects. POTENTIAL PROJECTS ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION 1.5 CONTRACTOR USE OF SITE A. General: Contractor shall have limited use of site for construction operations. Limit use of premises to work within the construction limits indicated on drawings. Do not disturb portions of Project site beyond areas in which the Work is indicated. 1. Limits: Confine construction operations to contractor laydown/staging areas shown in the drawings or approved by the CO. 2. Limit site disturbance, including earthwork and clearing of vegetation, to the construction limits indicated in the drawings unless approved by the CO. 3. Laydown areas (temporary storage or working areas near work site used for short durations) shall be approved by CO. 4. The Contractor shall hold a meeting no less than seven days in advance of work with the CO, in coordination with the Park, to review and confirm construction limits, equipment access, areas of ground disturbance and over all work procedures. 5. Contractor shall coordinate with CO for staging and storage area for traffic management set up including all materials and equipment for traffic management. 6. Contractor is responsible for restoring all staging and laydown area to pre-use conditions. 7. All emergency routes are to remain unobstructed at all times during construction. Contractor shall pick up construction-related debris daily. B. Storage of Materials: Confine storage of materials to contractor staging areas shown in the drawings or at a location approved by the CO. C. Parking: Confine parking to staging area. Parking at the construction site requires CO approval. Reduce and limit onsite parking to essential vehicles only. No less than 7 days prior to onsite work, submit an onsite parking plan with the number and type of vehicles and identify proposed laydown areas for CO approval. D. Stockpiling: Confine stockpiling to staging area or laydown area as approved by the CO. E. Preservation of Natural Features: 1. Prevent damage to natural surroundings. Restore damaged areas, repairing or replacing damaged trees and plants, at no additional expense to the Government. 2. Provide temporary barriers to protect existing trees and plants and root zones. 3. Do not remove, injure, or destroy trees or other plants without prior approval. Consult with CO and remove agreed-on roots and branches that interfere with construction. -- 4 of 146 -- HAFE 242454 01 10 00 - 3 041426 SUMMARY OF WORK 4. Do not fasten ropes, cables, or guys to existing trees. 5. Carefully supervise excavating, grading, filling, and other construction operations near trees to prevent damage. F. Driveways and Entrances: Keep driveways, pullouts and entrances serving premises clear and available to Government employees, and emergency vehicles at all times, unless otherwise shown as available staging area on the drawings or as approved by the CO.
