415 1220-gram + 55 1500-gram Weather Balloons for SHADOZ Network

STATEMENT OF WORK 2026 SHADOZ Weather Balloon Order Background The SHADOZ long-term ozonesonde measurement network needs to continue their multi-decadal balloon borne ozone profile records for satellite validation, ozone and pollution trends, and climate studies. This requirement is for 415 total 1200-gram and 55 1500-gram weather balloons. The balloons are required to ensure consistency with the existing SHADOZ records (e.g., balloon durability, reliability, and balloon burst height). Scope The operators at SHADOZ stations shall prepare, launch, and collect the data from instrumentation carried by the weather balloons, and send the data to NASA/ GSFC in Greenbelt, MD. These weather balloons will either be shipped to four different locations that assist with SHADOZ logistics Place of Performance This work (launching instrumentation on these free-flying weather balloons) will be performed at SHADOZ stations in the tropics. Period of Performance This order represents an approximately one-year supply of weather balloons to be delivered by 30 September 2026. -- 1 of 1 --
