Clarification Questions for 9 OSS Pilot Lockers, FA468626QC006 1. In your SOW your dimensions for the lockers all equal to 18” x18” x 72” whether it is single tier, double tier, etc. However, is the end users desire for the USABLE interior space to be 18” deep and wide? Base on your dimension and the drawings, this would not have compensated for appx ¾” thickness of the panels. This is an important question, because if a vendor provides lockers with the indicated width and depth from the exterior, to include the panels, the pilots will Not get a true use of 18” interior space and may affect fitting equipment like helmets and flight bags in the lockers. A) Inside usable space may be less than 18”x18”. ¾” paneling is fine, but I would not want anything less than 16x16” usable space. B) Adding dimensions to the exterior may cause spacing issues, as the locker room is very limited on space and the previous dimensions were calculated to fit the total dimensions x # of lockers. 2. Is there design requirement/reasoning that the Single -Tier lockers specified to be 3-wide (conjoined)? [“x20 Units – Single-Tier, 3-wede (60-lockers total) – 54” x 18” x 72”. Fig 1-2”] - Issue: If any one locker is damaged or needs to be replaced, the customer/government will have to replace All 3 conjoined single tier locker unit and not just one. The probability of a 54” 3-wide run of locker are more prevalent to in transit damage, damage during offloading, an truck to install site is most prevalent. - Recommendation made by a contractor: Make All x64 Single-Tear locker requirement Singe- Tier, 1 wide. The WxDxH all are the same as the 3-Wide. This would result in a safer transport and installation in room that flooring is usually not an evenly level surface. Same analyses for the double-tier 3-wide vs all being Double-Tier, 1-Wide x18. A) We agree to the recommendation. Single lockers are fine. 3. You indicate the actable color as Carbon Mesh Black. Wilsonart (standard industry colors) does not have a specific color named Carbon Mesh Black. Do you mean the actual nomenclature, Carbon Mesh – 4880, which is a shade of black? A) A shade of black is what is preferred but does not need to be specifically “Carbon Mesh Black”. 4. Please confirm whether the stated 72-inch height is the total finished height, including any base, toe kick, legs, or plinth. A) Approx. 72” height should be the total exterior finished height. +/- 1” is fine. Including the top and bottom paneling Lockers do not need to be elevated but must have a bottom panel of some sort to protect against elements. 5. The Statement of Need states that installation is not required, but the contractor is responsible for unloading, unpacking, and cleanup. Does the contractor also need to move -- 1 of 4 -- the lockers inside Building 1025 and place them in the final locker room, or is unloading at a receiving area sufficient? A) Yes, the contractors should be bringing the lockers inside of Bldg. 1025 but not fully “installing” them. The parking lot at Bldg. 1025 has more than sufficient space for a larger truck to park and unload. 6. Is a loading dock, forklift, pallet jack, or Government unloading assistance available? A) No, none of this should be used and should be provided by the company. 7. Must all cabinet units arrive fully assembled, or is onsite assembly permitted? A) Cabinets should either arrive fully assembled or the contractor can choose to assemble them on site but this should be done by the contractor. 8. Please provide the required dimensions, material, and finish for the four corner spacers. A) Room measures 276”x224” or 428.3Sq Ft2 9. The specification states that “11 lockers will require 18x18x72 to finish.” Is this referring to 11 finished exposed end panels? If so, please confirm the quantity and dimensions. A) Yes, if all single lockers do not have finished paneling on the outside, per our planed layout, that will leave 11 lockers with side paneling exposed. B) 18x18x72” side paneling finish would need to be installed. 10. Figure 2-2 states that the double-tier, one-wide lockers have the same specifications as the single-tier, three-wide lockers. Should the three double-tier, one-wide units instead use the same upper and lower compartment layout shown in Figure 2-1? A) Figure 2-2 & Figure 2-1 should have the same up and lower compartment. The only difference would be that one is 3wide and the other is 1 wide. B) The compartments being centered of the locker is to add easy access for the pilots. 11. Some requested interior storage dimensions are approximately 18 inches wide by 18 inches deep, while the nominal exterior locker dimensions are also 18 inches by 18 inches. Please confirm that nominal exterior dimensions are acceptable and that clear interior dimensions may be reduced by the thickness of the cabinet material. A) Yes the exterior dimensions are acceptable. We understand that the interior will not be completely 18x18” but should not be any less than 16”x16”. 12. Is Wilsonart 4880-38 Carbon Mesh the intended preferred laminate finish, and are equivalent matching commercial-grade HPL products acceptable? A) Yes, an equivalent or near equivalent is fine -- 2 of 4 -- 13. The Statement of Need lists Building 1025 at 19351 McGregor Street, while the solicitation delivery schedule lists Building 1060 at 7900 Arnold Avenue.
