They are 15 years old, and the roof has numerous holes from hail. The roof is also covered in a thick layer of dust and mold that blocks sunlight and is difficult to clean due to its height and strength of the panels. Replacing all the panels during the roof repair is justified due to their age. The original contract of the greenhouse construction was Requisition Number 442804 and Solicitation Number AG-7442-S-10-0074. The greenhouse was constructed my Stuppy in 2011, along with the seed lab and headhouse facility at the East Texas Plant Material Center. This greenhouse is used to start seedlings of foundation plant releases, conduct studies, and maintain germplasm. It is a critical piece of infrastructure and must be maintained. The clear polycarbonate panels are 8mm double wall construction and appear to be 6’ x 24’ sheets. The physical address of the greenhouse is 6598 FM 2782, Nacogdoches, TX 75964. 2.0 Definitions ETPMC: East Texas Plant Materials Program PMC: Plant Materials Center USDA: United States Department of Agriculture NRCS: Natural Resources Conservation Service Contractor Requirements 3.0 Technical Requirements / Tasks • Submit purposed outline of work and materials to be used to East Texas Plant Materials Center Manager and USDA-NRCS contracting officer for approval. ο Contractor is responsible for ordering and delivery of all materials needed to complete the job. ο All material must be approved for use before installation. ο All work must be done within the operational hours of the East Texas Plant Materials Center unless approved by the facility manager that staff will be on site to lock buildings and gates. • Proper safety equipment will be worn at all times by contractors and employees while conducting work ο Safety glass must be worn while cutting materials and hard hats will be worn while working. ο It is the contractor’s responsibility to supply the necessary PPE and make sure it is worn. ο The USDA-NRCS and East Texas Plant Materials Center are not liable for any injury that occurs on the job site. • Remove existing polycarbonate panels on the roof and walls of the greenhouse. ο Contractor will repair/replace any damaged frame structure as needed that is found while removing polycarbonate panels. • Replace the polycarbonate panels on the roof and walls of the greenhouse. ο All materials will meet or exceed the industry standard in quality, thickness, UV stability, impact resistance, and lifespan. ο Existing panels are 8mm double walled, clear, polycarbonate.
