SCOPE OF WORK (SOW) CNC Machining Center Configuration NASA Langley Research Center Date: May 14, 2026 Revision: 0 1. PROJECT OVERVIEW The Contractor shall provide, deliver, install, provide startup services, and training support for one (1) Haas VF-8/40 Vertical Machining Center configured with specified options and accessories for use at 7 langley blvd. , Hampton. VA 23681 NASA Langley Research Center. The system shall include machine configuration, coolant systems, probing systems, rotary- axis capability preparation, tooling accessories, startup services, and technical support as identified herein. 2. EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION Base Machine • Haas VF-8/40 Vertical Machining Center • 230V, 3-Phase electrical configuration • Standard one (1) year manufacturer warranty • Country of Origin: USA 3. MACHINE CONFIGURATION & OPTIONS The configured system shall include the following options and accessories: Spindle Configuration 12K-HSK-A63-VF • 12,000 RPM spindle • HSK-A63 taper -- 1 of 7 -- • Inline direct-drive spindle • 30 hp (22.4 kW) vector drive • Requires balanced toolholders with G2.5 rating above 10,000 RPM Expanded Memory 32GB Solid-State Memory • Expanded onboard solid-state memory • Supports storage, editing, and execution of large machine programs directly at the machine • Eliminates dependence on external USB or SD storage devices Fourth Axis Capability 4AXBL • Integrated 4th-axis drive capability • Supports Haas rotary tables and indexers • Enables multi-sided machining and fully interpolated 4-axis machining operations • Reduces setup time and increases machining productivity 4. DELIVERY & LOGISTICS Freight Contractor shall provide freight services under FOB Destiation terms. Rigging Services -- 3 of 7 -- Rigging contractor shall: • Provide labor, equipment, and materials required for unloading • Place machine in customer-designated location • Perform rough leveling of equipment Exclusions The following are specifically excluded from rigging scope: • Facility electrical connections • Air connections • Utility hookups • Foundation work 6. STARTUP & TRAINING Contractor shall provide: • OEM-certified startup service • Operator training support (if procured) Startup Conditions • Startup must occur within one (1) year of machine delivery • Delays beyond 120 days after delivery may impact on OEM warranty coverage • Additional charges may apply for delayed startup beyond one year 9. ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA Acceptance shall occur upon machine delivery in accordance with FOB Destination terms and resultant contract requirements. Acceptance of documentation may include: -- 5 of 7 -- • Startup Certificate • Training Certificate (if applicable) 10. PAYMENT TERMS • Standard Federal Prompt Payment Terms: Net-30 • Payment due thirty (30) days following Government acceptance • Separate CLIN structure shall be maintained for: • Equipment • Services • Installation • Training 11. WARRANTY The machine shall include: • Standard one (1) year OEM warranty Warranty activation conditions: • Startup must be completed within required timelines • Delayed startup may result in automatic OEM warranty commencement 30 days after delivery 12. EXCLUSIONS This Scope of Work does not include: • Facility modifications • Electrical installation -- 6 of 7 -- • Air system installation • Water or coolant plumbing • Foundation construction • Permanent anchoring installation • Facility readiness upgrades • Network integration • Production qualification testing 13.
