1. PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Contractor shall provide, deliver, install, provide startup services, and training support
for one (1) Haas VF-8/40 Vertical Machining Center configured with specified options and
accessories for use at 7 langley blvd. , Hampton. VA 23681 NASA Langley Research Center.
The system shall include machine configuration, coolant systems, probing systems, rotary-
axis capability preparation, tooling accessories, startup services, and technical support as
identified herein.
2. EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION
Base Machine
• Haas VF-8/40 Vertical Machining Center
• 230V, 3-Phase electrical configuration
• Standard one (1) year manufacturer warranty
• Country of Origin: USA
3. MACHINE CONFIGURATION & OPTIONS
The configured system shall include the following options and accessories:

• 12,000 RPM spindle
• HSK-A63 taper

5. DELIVERY & LOGISTICS

• Provide labor, equipment, and materials required for unloading
• Place machine in customer-designated location
• Perform rough leveling of equipment

7. FACILITY REQUIREMENTS
Electrical Requirements
• 480V, 3-Phase power required
The Government shall verify:
• Exact available facility voltage
• Building location
• Final installation location within facility
8. STARTUP & TRAINING
Contractor shall provide:
• OEM-certified startup service
• Operator training support (if procured)
Startup Conditions
• Startup must occur within one (1) year of machine delivery
• Delays beyond 120 days after delivery may impact on OEM warranty coverage
• Additional charges may apply for delayed startup beyond one year
9. ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA
Acceptance shall occur upon machine delivery in accordance with FOB Destination
terms and resultant contract requirements.
Acceptance of documentation may include:

10. PAYMENT TERMS
• Standard Federal Prompt Payment Terms: Net-30
• Payment due thirty (30) days following Government
acceptance

11. WARRANTY
The machine shall include:
• Standard one (1) year OEM warranty
Warranty activation conditions:
• Startup must be completed within required timelines
• Delayed startup may result in automatic OEM warranty commencement 30 days
after delivery
12. EXCLUSIONS
This Scope of Work does not include:
• Facility modifications
• Electrical installation
